APU ELM Spring 2015

Published

So the deadline for Azusa Pacific's ELM program is just a couple days away! :nailbiting:

Any other fellow applicants out there? I was wondering if the March 1st deadline is strictly for a Spring 2015 start date, or if there's any possibility of an earlier start? January of next year just seems soooo far away.

I think it's to see how you write. Grammer, spelling etc.

Monrovia :) What about you?

Inland Empire :)

Hi everyone,

Just out of curiosity, do you guys know if points are assigned for letters of recommendation? I was wondering if they give preference to who writes the letters for your application or if they are even taken into consideration during the decision process?

Thank you!

Has anyone NOT gotten a call yet for interviews?

Oh, I heard the letters of recommendations are definitely taken into consideration but I didn't see it on the point breakdown either. I wonder how many points it would be worth? I am wondering if some letters would carry more weight than others?

No, they do not give points for letters of rec. but I am sure they are taken into consideration. I'm sure they review those parts of your application before the interview.

Hi everyone,

Also, a question about when we hear back! I heard that the official date "was mid May" since they make the decision at the end of April. But some people here on the forums heard back in days or only in a week or two!!!!

So therefore, is this a sign for concern? Because it seems like some people are hearing back so soon and the cohort is quickly filling up even before May begins............ ??????

Hi Tina,

The people that heard back like myself were offered spots for other cohorts. A few were offered summer spots and some were offered in the fall.

I just got an email for my interview on the 22nd. Have any of you done the interview in person? How is that? Is the phone interview a Skype call?

I just did my interview. It was super casual! I came in 15 min early, and was sat down by the receptionist to do a writing sample which you're allowed 20 minutes. The professor will read it over as you fill out some forms. Then you enter the room when you're done and it starts. She only asked me why I wanted to be a nurse, but the rest of the time was spent discussing the curriculum and information about clinicals. She'll go through your pre-requisites and your work experience with you and let you know about the point system too. If anyone is still stressed, relax and breathe easier! Let me know if I can help anyone else with more details.

Not surprised.

Ofelia- your input is not very helpful. Will you please just let us be excited about APU? Thanks :)

Emily, I'm glad your interview went well!
