Shanny1185: Also, you mentioned that the writing prompt was scored in front of you. Since this is a prompt that asks you about your own opinion, what exactly do they score on (if you happen to know)? Was it more to test how you write or on content, etc?

Tina,

I think they had a lot of problem with other people writing the applicants letter to the dean for them. They just want to check your basic writting skills. Make sure you can form proper sentences and know where to place your commas etc...They are not grading you on what you specifically write. I hope that helps

My interviewing experience was a little different than shanny1185; however, I interviewed for the Inland Empire campus, AT Monrovia. I was a little confused about that as well, but it was fine. That might be why my experience was a little different. I completed my writing sample (which I was told I had about 20 minutes to complete), and then was "interviewed." I consider the interview portion more of an advising session, but my writing sample, and overall "score" was never given to me. I was just told that I had a very good chance of getting in, based upon my grades and background; therefore, I think that the interview experience will be a little different depending on what location you are interviewing for??? I can say that the interview experience is very laid-back, and not intimidating at all. I have heard that there is a point system, but cannot say that I was included in the discussion of my overall score at all...good luck to you Tina N....I am sure you will do awesome!! What campus are you applying for???

And (last question, sorry!), did they happen to mention/ask you anything about your personal statement (since I assume they assign points on that too maybe)?

Congratulations Shanny1185 on getting in for this coming summer!! I applied for Spring 2015, but was told that I will be wait listed for this Fall since all of my pre-reqs are done...crossing my fingers for a call soon!!! Have they mentioned anything to you about orientation, or what your schedule will be like first semester?? I am so nervous and anxious to start, and I feel like it is forever away! Good luck to you!! Hopefully I will be able to start right behind you in the fall!!

No they did not even mention my personal statement, but i think rizzoland13 is right every experience is different depending on the person that is doing the interviewing.

Thank you! i was NOT expecting that at all! I thought i had a year to prepare now i only have 35 days till school! Yikes!!! My orientation is going to be 2 days long and it's 4 day before school starts We will be getting our schedule the day of orientation. Im taking 15 units, which is 6 classes

In terms of incomplete classes they estimated my grade based on reports from professors of those classes. And since I was getting around 95-100% for those classes they just assumed that I was going to get an A. so I got full marks on the prereq GPA section. I was admitted before my final grades came out. Hope that helps :)

no im starting in summer :) I got a phone call 3 days after my interview. I applied for fall though...like you I am starting sooner than expected but very excited :)
