Hello,
This is a forum for those who applied to APU ELM Summer 2021 program! I applied to the main campus.

I received an email today for scheduling an interview within the following dates July 17th-August 14th at the SD campus. Does anyone know if this is the last wave of interviews for the SD campus? After reading the forum it appears as though interviews have already been in process and I'm not sure if the comments apply to the SD campus.
Also, is anyone willing to shed light on how the program works? How many semesters to complete the program? Are summers included in the semester count? Is it two years then an optional two more years to receive an NP? I can't find information that explains this clearly. Thank you in advance for anyone willing to take the time to explain this.
Lastly, I recently saw something in the media that was quite concerning. It was a news piece stating that nursing students who graduate during this COVID-19 pandemic, may not meet clinical hours due to the cancelation of in-person clinicals. Is this a real concern amongst current nursing students?

Yeah I believe it has to be close to the last wave. I just got that same email as well regarding the scheduling between them dates. I honestly did not find the program until about a month before the deadline, so I am not surprised on my end. So from the information I was given, they addition time is not optional. You get to decide what track you follow though. It does include summers, but the credits dramatically decrease once you are in the graduate portion of the program. I believe it will be 18 months for the accelerated nursing, they they told me the remain portion of the program can run from 2.5-6, depending on how much work you are willing to do each semester. I had difficulties finding much information on their site as well, so I called and kind of got a small run down on how it works. But good luck on your interview, hopefully us late interviewers still have a solid chance!

I applied to the main campus (alternate IE) on June 1st. This was my first time applying. I received an invite to interview in a couple weeks. Anyone familiar with the process?
Hi! How did your interview went? Would you mind sharing what questions did they ask you and how was the set up (if there are multiple interviewer)?

I applied to the IE campus and still have not heard anything back yet. Anyone else hear anything from the campus about interviews?
I have 3.8 overall GPA & 4.0 for my sciences.
Also applied to the IE. Same GPA. Haven’t heard anything either...was positive I am not getting one.

I thought the interview went well but that's subjective. My interview lasted close to an hour. The majority of it was just relaxed conversation. The questions were basic interview questions like why APU, why nursing, strengths, and weaknesses. She asked me some questions about my background. The interview was one on one over Google meet. The interviewer entered the room exactly on time. Prior to the interview, they send the pre-admission agreement form and the writing sample. During the interview, the interviewer will highlight the courses and commitments of the program. Additionally, they will answer any questions regarding the program. It was much easier than a job interview to me. Just be yourself and you'll be great! When's your interview taking place?

Hi JCastro! Hopefully your interview went great. Mine is next week. Can you please share your interview exp? Thank-you ?

Hi Harmoniqa! Your feedback is very helpful. My interview is next week and I was wondering if you can share what were the requirements for the writing sample?

My interview was really similar to what Harmoniqa said. She asked about why nursing, why APU, tell me about yourself, strength and weaknesses, How do you deal with conflict...and stuff like “what else do you want to tell me...” and then I had to do the writing part after, they give you 30 minutes from when they send the prompts. The prompts didn’t come with any instruction. Not sure if others received instructions on how they wanted us to respond -.-
