Hello,

This is a forum for those who applied to APU ELM Summer 2021 program! I applied to the main campus.

My interview was really similar to what Harmoniqa said. She asked about why nursing, why APU, tell me about yourself, strength and weaknesses, How do you deal with conflict...and stuff like “what else do you want to tell me...” and then I had to do the writing part after, they give you 30 minutes from when they send the prompts. The prompts didn’t come with any instruction. Not sure if others received instructions on how they wanted us to respond -.-

Hi thank you for your response. Can you please contact me at [email protected]? I have few more questions. If you don't mind it, I would highly appreciate it. Thank you!

They didn't send you the instructions along with the article?

The email I received for the writing portion contained a word document for if you want to write it physically and a separate one if you'd prefer to type. The instructions are vague anyways. It just states you have 25 minutes to write a summary of the article. It seems that the purpose is cross-check our writing capabilities with the letter of intent.

Yeah she just sent me an email with the 4 writing prompts and said to pick one and write about it and send it back 0.0

For those who applied to the IE campus, I just received an invite to interview via email.

Keep a look out!(:

I just received an invite as well. I am so ecstatic but nervous at the same time. This is my second time applying so I really hope I get in this time. ?

That's so strange! I heard about in person interviews having the option to choose from four but I assumed they chose for us since transitioning to online interviews.

The program manager sent me the option of one article along with the pre-admission form and ELM curriculum map prior to the interview. I guess it varies with who your interviewer is? Or they changed the process as they progressed. Either way its all done for us both ?
Now, we wait haha

I have my interview for the IE campus tomorrow. My essay situation is a bit different. Along with interview link was an attached article. I was instructed to write a one-page response on the one-page article and have it emailed in tomorrow, and hour before my interview. I wanted to share my process, as it seems different than other campus applicants.

Good luck to everyone!

Good luck!! Let us know how it went! I know those interviews are fairly conversational. Best advice I was given is to be yourself.

CONGRATS and good luck! Any updates would be highly appreciated

Wanted to give an update in regards to my interview with the IE campus.

Though my essay was not due until 8AM today, I had it completed last night, but had it scheduled for email to be sent in at it’s due time. The interviewer did not mention my essay. Other than that, she was so kind and warm.

Questions asked:

Why nursing? Why APU? What is the role of a nurse and/or nurse practitioner? Volunteer post-high school? Church involvement? Healthcare experience? What path do you plan to take on the program?

My interview lasted about 45 minutes and was very comfortable and awesome.

I hope my experience offers some type of insight into what could occur during your interview. Very best of luck to you all!
