APU ELM Fall 2015

Hello!

I thought I'd get this thread started :)

I'm in the process of applying to APU and was wondering how everyone is doing with their applications.

Has anyone gone through the advising session yet?

APU didn't receive one of my letters of rec that was sent 3 weeks ago!! I'm asking my recommender to re-do it but I doubt it will be done by tomorrow (the deadline) :/

Has this happened to anyone else?

@pologoalie ... yea I had to actually ask all my recommenders to re-do the form, too.. some were annoyed by the fact that APU had "lost" them so I'm hoping this didn't change the way they wrote my recommendations =\ ... some of my recommenders didn't even re-do it.. it was a pain

@xochristinaxo I'm sorry to hear that happened to all three of your letters!! I felt really bad asking for a re-do. In regards to your previous comment I chose PNP but I'm starting to wish I picked FNP, more options for work.

Hello! I replied to another APU ELM Fall 2015 thread, but it looks like this one is more active. I just got a phone call today for my interview (SD campus)! Has anyone else heard back yet? I turned in my application early last week, so I assume that those of you who applied earlier may have already gotten phone calls. If anyone has gone through the interview so far, any insight would be so appreciated. Best of luck to everyone!

Hi everyone!

I applied for fall 2015, SD campus and had my interview + writing sample last Thursday. The professor was very nice and I believe there was another girl before me so I'm sure a lot more people applied and are being interviewed. I didn't pick a specialty and I don't think you are expected to know now what you want to do..the professor told me during the interview that it's only around the 3rd semester or so that you will choose your NP specialty as you'll have so much more experience by then. I have already finished my prerequisites and am really just waiting to start school at this point. I really hope to be accepted into this program, it is such a great program!!

Yeah it is! The interview is very relaxed and the professor is the nicest lady. I wouldn't worry. Just be yourself and ask every question you may have about the program. Did you also apply for the SD campus?

Yeah I live in SD, really close to campus.. Husband is in the Navy how about you?
