I am currently applying for Azusa Pacific Univsity's Entry Level Master's program for a start date of Fall 2014. The deadline is coming up quickly! If anyone else is applying now, feel free to add!
Hi vpaniagua! Thank you for your respond. I applied for fall 2014 but since I had to evaluate my Bachelor and my application was not completed, I have to wait until summer 2015. I have already finished all my per-requisites. I asked them to do my interview sooner because I will not be in the United States for four months. I wish I could get in to the program at least in Spring 2015. Good luck to you too. I think we will start the program at the same time!
Yes! I think the summer cycle has fewer applicants so that might be why there is so little activity on the thread. I had my interview on the phone since I also do not live in the United States. Keep me posted after you have your interview and if/when you hear back about acceptance! The waiting is already killing me!
Hi elopez! I think I talked to you earlier when we both got into Spring 2015 at the main campus! I got offered to start in fall also so I'm super excited!!
I'm so excited too....I was informed yesterday by the program manager of the ELM program at Azusa that class starts September 02, 2014 and there is a two day mandatory orientation on August 21 and 22nd.
Hi elopez1986! Congrats on your acceptance. I am planning on applying for Summer 2015, and wanted to ask how you approach writing your letter to dean? I'm not quite familiar with it and I heard it is different from a personal statement. Is there a specific format for the letter to dean? Please let me know. I would really appreciate if you or anyone can help :) Thanks!

Hi seebella,
The letter to the dean is the personal statement (i.e. professional goals).
When you have your advising (interview) the interviewer will have you write a page on a question he or she has. This way then can compare your writing skills with your letter to the dean since there has been cases where students pay other people to write their letter to the dean.
Plus there is no specific format instructed. Although I used APA.
Hope this helps! :)
Hi elopez1986. Thank you for your response! I turned in my application this morning, and I'm hoping to get a interview/advising appointment. I heard there will be a writing sample. How was that like?
It went well. During the advising the interviewer never brought it up. So they will grade it after the advising session.
Hope this helps!
The writing sample is very easy and it serves the purpose of making sure you were the one that wrote your letter to the dean (not just paid someone to write it for you,) and that you are able to communicate well in the written English language. They ask you a simple conversational type question and you have 20 minutes to respond to it. I wrote it in short answer format, without an intro or conclusion, but I got full points on it and it was graded before my interview.
