who among us here applied for the FY 2011 h1b visa and has been approved?

I have a question,

Can I study online masters degree when I am in OPT? If incase my H1B would be rejected my status will be maintain right if I would study online masters in nursing degree?

anyone has answer please?

Thank u.

I don't think online courses are acceptable for maintaining f1, usually f1 requires full time education

Specializes in CTICU.

2 separate issues - you can do an online degree fulltime. Depends if school is SEVIS approved to issue I20s.

wow, really ? I had no idea. I am in a BSN program right now which is costing me a lot . And I was under the impression that one needs to take 12 units minimum per semester to maintain F1 status. But if your info is true.....hmm..something to think about...I think it's not just the school but the program too that has to be approved. USN in Nevada offers 18 month BSN program to students on F1. But not the 14 month BSN because it's partly online and has not been approved.

Just my 2 cents :) But please let me know the updates if I am not in the loop. Thanks , cheers !

Hi

I am doing MENP program( Its like accerelated BSN) in Chicago. MY program will finish in Nov. I also have Masters in Public Health degree. I have started looking for job with H1B. I will get OPT for 1 year but I need sponsership H1B after OPT.

Is there any idea about H1B for nurse in chicago area? OR which position can I work if I have MPH and RN?

Please give some ideas?

as I heard, once you get admission of any school during OPT, your OPT will be invalid right away. but I am not pretty sure about this, check relative regulations.

:confused:Hi everybody ,can anybody tell me if online MSN degrees are accepted by USCIS for h1b visa?

If you complete your studies and you find a employer willing to employ you in that position I would say you are better applying for green card rather than H1b. You should be EB2 or EB1 which you may find is current if you was born in Italy

Did not unrerstand about Italy...What are you talking about?I'am from Israel.

So...I've been thinking that because of retrogration there is nothing to talk about Green Card and my only option is H1B(after I complete CNM).Is it real to find emploer that will be interested in that?In which state?

i have never heard of applying straight for a green card. So those with master degree are able to apply straight for a green card without applying for H1b first? Are the required conditions/requirements different than applying for H1b?

Sorry my mistake on your country.

Retrogression currently affects only EB3 for all categories and only certain categories in EB2 and EB1. A lot depends on where you are born. Therefore if you meet EB2 or EB1 requirements and employer is willing to go the immigration route you can apply direct for GC and in some cases if PD is current can apply for AOS.
