Applying to SWIC Fall 2011?

Hello all~

I'm working very hard to see if I can enter SWIC nursing program for Fall 2011. I would like to make of this thread a place where we can give each other support. Right now I'm taking a couple of classes ;Chemistry & Psychology until October and then I start Microbiology, Developmental Psychology, and Sociology until December plus the CNA course in November. I'm going bananas with all the credits and amount of work I'm dealing with. I'm committed to this but I have to confess I'm so scared I will not reach my goal and not have enough points in the end after all the effort. Thank God I can express myself here because I think no one around me understands what I'm going through to make it happen.

So Erin, what kind of stuff came with the letter? Did it mention when the orientations were????

Orientation is May 5th or May 6th at 6:30 pm. You also will receive the website/information on how to do your background check/drug test.

I am officially freaking out...my baby is due May 7th...

erin you are soooo lucky that you got yours. what is so wierd is that they went out at the same time and i dont have mine! i hate this waiting game. congradualtions!!!!!

Thank you! She will be coming at a hectic time, but you really can't plan when they come lol! We tried a long time for her!

The background check is done online and then they will e-mail you a date for your drug test. June 1st is the deadline to complete them.

I wonder how many people got their letters today. I wish we'd here from more people. Is it a regular size envelope or is it a packet? Is the background check and drug test performed by the same company? I guess those are gonna cost a couple hundred dollars then before the summer semester begins. Good grief what a pain in the but I am becoming cuz I want to know every detail. It is so great that you got in and found out over the weekend so you don't have to worry about it all weekend. You would think knowing you got accepted with 18 points I would feel some sort of relief, because I have 19 points, but all kinds of things keep going through my head that for some reason I won't be accepted. This is going to be one long weekend!!!!!

I officially promise no more questions for you til at least Monday if I don't get my letter. :clown:

It's just in a regular SWIC envelope, but it was thick because of the couple pages of info that was in there. The drug test/background check is 87 dollars and 13 additional dollars for every state you have lived in. With 19 points, sit back, relax, you got in :)
