  1. Hello!!! Thanks for taking the time and giving me your perspective. I really appreciate it. My scenario changed...I received their acceptance letter yesterday, so I will be a full-time LPN student in January 2013!! My question now would be if I should tell my potential employer about me leaving or going part-time when schools starts in three months. Thanks everybody!!
  2. Hi!! I'm a new CNA :) and need help deciding if I should look for a job or not. The reason behind my hesitance is because I've applied and interviewed for an LPN school (11 months full time) that starts January 2013 and I have a strong feeling I am going to make it. I don't want to start a job and then quit damaging any opportunity at that facility where I could have a chance later as an LPN and/or my resume. What if I tell them I could possibly being accepted to that school and that I will then "possibly" work for three months only. Would they let me? I don't want to stay at home doing "nothing" (career related) when I could be using my skills. Any feedback is appreciated!
  3. Thanks!!! It went great! Now, I have to wait until the end of October for their answer..let's see. :))
  4. Hello! Any ideas on how to prepare for the interview? Thanks!
  5. Just find new friends. Don't keep people like that around you. ;-)
  6. Hello Hulljay83! If you don't mind, what made you change your mind? Rt was one of my choices as well. Thanks!
  7. Hello! Does anyone knows what was the point cut off for this year. I applied for 2011 and was out by 1.5 points (point cut off was 16.5). Now that my husband received new orders to stay here for another cycle, I am going to apply again. I will have 17 points before the exam. I hope to collect more points from it, hopefully. Good luck to everyone and congratulations to those who made it!!!
  8. I know is been a while but I wanted to thank you for taking the time and respond to my question! Here is a little update: We were allowed to stay here but I got their response too late as I had to drop my CNA class thinking I would be moving to another state. Now that I will be here at Scott AFB for more than 2 years I will take the CNA during the Summer and I will apply to their nursing program again but for the year 2013. Thank you again!
  9. Hello! I need to know if the two parts of the CNA test are given on the same day or not. The last day of this course is May 8, 2012 and students are allowed to take the test after 30-45 days the last day of class. The problem is that my husband who is in the Army is going to receive orders between May-September 2012 and I don't want to waste my time and money taking a course for which I won't be able to sit for a test. Also, would I be able to take the class and test in another state? Would that be possible? Thanks for all the help you can provide me with! Thanks!!
  10. Hello! I just heard a voice message Mrs. Claudia left me and the cut off this year was 16.5. Again the magic number this year was 16.5...ahhhh. oh well. Let's make it happen happen next year Lauren!
  11. Thank you and congratulations for making it, and don't be nervous you are going to do great. You will see.
  12. Congratulations girl!! No worries, I might try next year. Good luck and thank you for the wishes!
  13. Thank you so much for the ideas, i think they are great! That SOCI I could not take the past Winter would have helped me have 16 points; I have all A's in the different sections of the application. I guess I have to take Soci for 16 points and the CNA for 17 points. I just hope the cut off does not continue to get higher. I can't wait to know what the number was for this year. If there is an alternate in the forum, please tell us how many points you had in the application. I am sad, and cried but at the same time I am happy for all of you because it has been a long stressful wait. Thank you Trace10!!!
  14. I have emailed and left a message in Mrs. Claudia's voice mail to know what the point cut-off was for this year. I am super curious.
  15. I just found out I did not make it. So, anyone with 15 won't make it. Grades won't matter, just points. I have a lot of thinking to do. I don't know if I should finish my Health Information Technology degree for which I have 5 classes and the clinical left, take the cna class and the SOCI class I need and apply for next year, or what. For those of you who made it, please continue to share your journey here. I have notice there are always guests reading our thread. Let's see what happens. Irma
