Applying to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing?

I applied to Mountainside Hospital School of Nursing..took the NET and received great scores:yeah: and now, waiting to set-up interview with school.

Anywone else applying and waiting to hear back? Anyone already go through their interview? I'm interested in waiting with other applicants!

This is my top choice and I'm ready to be accepted!! :D:D

I submitted the FASA form online, through FASA.org... That lets you know if your awarded any Pell Grant from the state. I will check with Mrs. *, if I did something wrong we can modify it... Let me know when you decided which school your going to...:nurse:

@Francine470 - what other schools did you apply to? being nosey. i attend MCC and my daughter was just accepted to MHSON. whatever you decide, good luck!

Thank you so much Onedayanurse! I will wait and see what this letter says. Yes, it still starts in July - she made it clear to keep an July an open month. Are you doing the 3 or 4 wk route? By an chance do you know who I am referring to - a beautiful young looking African American with short black hair and dressed up in a suit (at least today). When I asked her what was her name- I coul've swore she said Dr. *******. I just googled on the mountainside hospital website and there isn't a Dr. ******* unless its just a Phd? Any 411 you know would be greatly appreciated. :D

I beleive your in. If Mrs. * said to keep July open thats a sure sign... Well wait to celebrate!!!:cheers: I believe there is a Dr. *******, however, I only met with Mrs. L. I will be doing the 4 week program I will be taking Chemistry at the same time at night so it is going to be rough for me. I will be getting use to those 12 hours rather quickly..lol Mrs.* said I would be receiving a package with additional paperwork and where to order uniforms, but I have yet to receive it. Did she mention anything to you? Did she say anything about the medical form?

"If you're applying for Mountainside, you will be interviewed. THAT'S where you can really stand out among the crowd. You will get interviewed after you take the entrance exam but that's where you can really shine and let them see you as a whole, not just as a score."

Basically, my next question is, so say you take the entrance test and don't pass over a 70% for ex., will you still qualify for an interview with Ms. *?? My fear is not ppassing with a good score and not being accepted. My exam is this Friday. Any insight would be very appreciated.

I am SOOOOO sorry Nancy!! I didn't get an alert for this message or even check here on allnurses for the NJ board. I have been SOOOO swamped with finishing graduation requirements...packing...working...finishing my last weeks of clinicals..WHEW!! I was stressing so much today that I had to call Mrs. * to verify something and I was having a mini-breakdown!!! But, the sweet person that she is...she talked to me so calmly and got me to BREATHE and CALM DOWN!! I has nearly hysterical! I'm actually at the library at the hospital today, printing some stuff out that I need to take over to her!!

So, glad that you guys are getting accepted and on your way IN!! And Nancy, I do include you in that! The trip will be HARD..EXHAUSTING...seemingly HOPELESS...but YOU WILL MAKE IT and it will be ALL worth it!!!

Oh..and about financial aid...don't even worry. Once first semester comes around, they'll be rolling in the scholarships. Just remember the deadlines to apply and you're basically in! I got full and partial scholarships..just abide by the deadlines. Also, there's work-study to be had as well!!

Ms.* said to expect a letter and we will go from there. They were very busy today, I think there was a graduation for little kids...you can hear them screaming and ahhh the smell of pizza - YUM! LOL.... She talked to me about financial aid, CPR, my own health ins, and all that good stuff. Were you required to go back for another interview after you recieved the acceptance letter? Thanks.

No I don't have to go back. Received my letter and awaiting a package. I will call her on monday...I'm just so happy knowing that we are all in... Can't wait...
