Applying MJC Nursing Fall'14 & Spring'15

Published

Hi,

Is someone applying MJC Nursing program in Fall 2014 & Spring 2015?

I am wondering: How high the scores will be on TEAS V Exam?

Mine is 68% in my first attempt.

On the points sheet I have 45/100.

If someone like to share their TEAS V score & Point sheet scores, it will be really helpful!

Also, it will help to avoid anxiety.

I will appreciate!

Thanks

Sam

I also received an email late this afternoon to turn in my supporting documents. I'm very happy; this is the first bit of good news I've had so far in this process :)

Hello everyone. I have. 61 pts and got an email today to submit supporting documents. I read on mjc website, that they ask top 120 applicants to submit docs and then they chose 80 for the program at mjc campus for both semesters...we will. Know by july 22 if we are in or out!!!

Hi ladies! Is anyone here going for the Columbia cohort? My application points total was 77, but it's a much smaller pool than the MJC pool (20 students total, 10 per semester.) I sent in supporting docs. I'm worried that with a tighter pool it'll be more competitive up here. Are there any more Columbia students who want to chime in?

I had the exact same thought process as I was selecting a campus! I live in Jackson, so when considering driving miles, the Columbia campus is closer than Modesto. However, I selected the Modesto campus as my preference because they accept a larger number of applicants into that location, therefore increasing my chances of getting in. I hope I made the right choice.

Modesto does accept more applicants, but more people apply for Modesto compared to Columbia. Something to consider....

^ That is true. For awhile there have been rumors flying around up here that Modesto area residents have been applying to the Columbia pool for that reason. I asked the allied health staff about it and they said there were no rules prohibiting them from doing so, but not to worry about it and that in general the pool was made up of Tuolumne county residents. I'm just nervy because I applied twice under the lottery system and didn't get in. I did use those two years to take the nutrition class and get my EMT cert, so at least I got 4 points out of those years.

Has anyone gotten anything yet? I got an email 2 days ago that was just a repeat confirmation that my documents were received. Notifications are supposed to go out by the 22, so we're down to the wire...

Don't worry. Last year, we didn't get our acceptance letters in the mail until the beginning of August and started school the end of August.

I read back through an email I received on June 6th and it states that we will be notified by July 22, via email, regrading our status in the program. I'm anxiously waiting...

I got my email, I'm in for fall!!! ?

I didn't make it in...I'm bummed out, but its okay. I'm going to apply to American River and Delta Colleges this fall. Best of luck to everyone who made it in to MJCs program!

Dang, sorry DianeKay.
