I sent in my application yesterday for the class of 80 bridge program. Now I must wait patiently for my phone interview and then a LONG wait to see if I get in! I have only been a nurse for 1 year. I worked in our local hospital as a nurses aid from nov 2004 until Nov 2009. I spent one year as an aid in L & D and then 3 years on medsurg going from an aid to extern to intern. I left the hospital for hours better adjusted so I could go back to school ( no nights holidays or weekends ). I have been working as a fill in nurse for a local CNM for about 2 years and she gave me a great reference, also my former supervisor of the L & D was a reference. I have wanted to persue a career as a midwife for more than 10 years, but just now have the opportunity.
Anyone else sent in their application for class of 80 bridge?

Anyone heard anything further, or any further contact with the school? It seems like a few people have had "admissions counseling sessions" but others haven't?
I have heard nothing at all. No counseling session. I hope they don't extend the application deadline like they have with other classes-just prolong the waiting! So far, the app deadline is Monday. I check their FB page frequently, they seem to have lots of updates on there. And the discussion boards have ppl talking about if they are hearing or not. Seems some of the earlier classes are hearing about 2-2.5 months before frontier bound.
I have gotten e-mails both yesterday and Monday stating they are in the process of reviewing applications and thank you for applying. I'm glad for the confirmation that they are reviewing my app, but the next e-mail I get needs to say something like... "Congratulations, you've been accepted!" I cannot handle the palpitations and increase in BP and pulse that each e-mail from Frontier causes! LOL
Seriously, lol I can't wait to find out! I already took the time off of work! If I don't get in I may have to take a vacation and spend some time nursing my ego back to life!! Come on May or June or what ever date they are gonna let us know the wait is a killer!

I'm on the facebook page as well (aka Monelle). Anxiously waiting!! I have been communicating with Debra at Frontier. She said they will be accepting 35 students into the bridge and that we should know by mid May! I cannot wait!
Mid may....well, that came and went! hopefully by mid June, now :)
