Applying to Frontier Bridge class of 80!

Published

I sent in my application yesterday for the class of 80 bridge program. Now I must wait patiently for my phone interview and then a LONG wait to see if I get in! I have only been a nurse for 1 year. I worked in our local hospital as a nurses aid from nov 2004 until Nov 2009. I spent one year as an aid in L & D and then 3 years on medsurg going from an aid to extern to intern. I left the hospital for hours better adjusted so I could go back to school ( no nights holidays or weekends :lol2:). I have been working as a fill in nurse for a local CNM for about 2 years and she gave me a great reference, also my former supervisor of the L & D was a reference. I have wanted to persue a career as a midwife for more than 10 years, but just now have the opportunity.

Anyone else sent in their application for class of 80 bridge?

Anxiously awaiting...

I haven't applied, but I email to ask some questions. The email I received said all Bridge students are together and then move to their respective post masters program of choice.

Hi guys! My name is Elizabeth, and I'm applying to Frontier class 81 for the CNM. I will be graduating in May with my BSN and look forward to starting graduate school. I have two children with one on the way. I can't wait to hear about everyone's acceptances! :)

Hello everyone! I too have applied to Frontier for the Class 80 bridge. I'm glad I found this post. Now I won't have to be the only anxious person awaiting acceptance. These next few months are going to be rough. I'm not good at having patience either. I just mailed my application today. Good luck to all of us!!:)

Welcome to the wait, monarch! Are you planning on bridging into the FNP, CNM, or WHNP program? I've been a RN for 5 years, and have applied for class 80 bridge, hoping to be a CNM!

Word on the street (the allnurses message board, lol) says we should hear by late June.

Good luck!

Thank you Happy Nurse! I applied for the FNP route. I've been a RN for 6 years now. I worked 6 mo med surg, 3 1/2 yrs OB, and 2 yrs in the OR and PACU. It's time to further my education. I cannot wait! Is the post correct that they only take 25-30 into the class 80 bridge? That seems like a small Frontier bound group. And LATE June???? I am definately going to be working on my meditation skills. Are you going crazy yet??

I do try to check in on the facebook discussions regularly (my name is Kerry, so you might have seen me there).

Just haven't heard much of anything for several weeks now, and getting anxious!

I'm on the facebook page as well (aka Monelle). Anxiously waiting!! I have been communicating with Debra at Frontier. She said they will be accepting 35 students into the bridge and that we should know by mid May! I cannot wait!

Interesting that they closed the applications for class 80 for FNP and WHNP, but not CNM. Must not have gotten enough CNM applicants?

If you look on the admissions calendar, they've extended the application deadline for a few of the CNM classes.
