This may be a far fetched thread but I am planning on applying next fall (or second half of year June 2nd-Dec 31st) for the Fall 2015 start AP BSN program (also applying on campus just to cover my bases). A little jealous that other schools like TWU can apply in the semester before the they are looking to start. Either way I was thinking this thread could help those who are needing to know the process and others who have info from advisors that could share with the rest of us. So here are my questions:
A. I have not taken HESI yet but UTA's does not require sciences from what I have found online and been told by others. Any tips on preparing for this? Which prereqs would you recommend having done prior to testing?
*B. Transferring outside pre-nursing requisites Intro to Nursing, Patho and Pharm. I got info from an advisor that I must fax a "portfolio" including an official transcript, copies of catalog description of course from college, and copy of syllabi for each course. Has anyone else done this and is this done AFTER courses are completed and appear on transcript? Or before the classes are taken? I am considering Brookhaven for these. Is it possible these NOT be approved? Did anyone stack these courses Intro and Pharm same semester or Patho and pharm?
C. UTA upper division elective. Medical Terminology is what is accepted for UTA AP BSN program. How have others taken the course? Such as online, over summer, flex term?
*As you can see B is my biggest concern.
If there is anything else someone would like to add please feel free. I want this thread to help make the application process as smooth as possible for others as well.
Thank you!
Hi everyone! I've been checking out this post for a few weeks now and decided to join. I applied to UTA Fall 2016 in January. I have all of my pre-req courses complete. I'm currently taking technical writing, Intro to nursing and Patho online. I hope we all hear good news in April.

crm1209 and MillertheGreat. My advice for the Patho class is focus mainly on the RRD's!! You can get teh textbook but the RRD's are more important. They contain the information that you need for the test. The tests are multiple choice critical thinking. Also, make sure you do the weekly assignments because they are very similar to what the test looks like, plus they help you better understand concepts. Remember, this class isnt about memorizing, but applying concepts into context and real life scenarios.
Hey Mr. Bowser!
So Patho is pretty good because of the amount of material Ms.Urban gave us to go over and to check for understanding. Pharm, however is a whole other story. We didn't get RRD's this semester, but I guess they were offered at some point because her study guides and syllabus referred to them. We were just assigned chapters to read so it's overwhelming to say the least. The assignments seem to focus on drug interactions and application to various scenarios so I'm hoping this is more telling of what our exams will look like. Would you happen to still have the RRDs for last semester? Maybe they'd be a little more concise and easier to focus in on pertinent exam information.

We must all be in the same patho class right now! I've finished 1&2, and am waiting for the test to open - super nervous about the first exam, though, as the prof made it sound next to impossible. How are y'all feeling about it?
What's the deal with pharm? I have to take it this summer, so any heads up is good . . . . .

@MillertheGreat, a consideration for UTA is if you have a previous bachelors, masters, or doctrate. 12 hrs of pre req science courses or 30 hrs of other pre req courses completed at UTA. Preference is also given to applicants employed at partnership hospitals for the semester in which you are applying and can vary by semester.
