Apply for RN - lottery or high GPA

Hi, every one

I applied to 5 institutions for the fall 2010 entrance- Riohodo, la harbor, cerittos, PCC, Elac...I am sad because Riohondo has denied my application. I wonder if they actually do the lottery or they look at your GPA. My GPA is 3.8 and I got A's all my prerequites...is it a good chance to get in???...Also, Does anyone know which schools are currently accepting RN applications...I wanna apply more...I am too worried...I really need to get in this year...private schools or out of state schools are fine...please let me know soon...thanks in advanced

I got the letter on Friday but did not read it till saturday when my mother brought it to my attention! I hope that you get yours soon!!!! i hope that you get in i wish you the best!!!

I got the letter too and if you look at it, they say that they have room for 160 people to take the test (40 spots at each of the 4 test times). I am scheduled to take it for Goldenwest this friday and Luanne at cerritos said that ATI will send my scores to Cerritos for $20.00 -paid by me. you also have to consider that others have taken the test in the past year and that their scores will probably be taken into consideration for admission as well. I know that Cerritos takes 50 students per semester and keeps a 50 person alternates list. Maybe this means that we are on the short list of applicants and they will choose from this list rather than the 8 billion other applications they got! Good luck on the test!

Hi, I got a letter, too. After we take the TEAS and pass with 67% or higher, we go into ANOTHER lottery for admission.

-LeahFull, How hard was the TEAS when you took it? What types of math probs were there?

I take it friday, so I will have to let you know! I did get the review book from ATI, and it has a lot of geometry stuff that I did not remember, like the area of a circle, and some algebra stuff that I needed to review. I will let you know how close the review book is to the actual test friday afternoon.

congratulation for those who got aceptance letter for this fall 2010. I have just called the nursing department, they already picked 170 students to take the teas, they will do second non-evaluative selection lottery

I am so sad, I don't get in this time... but i will try next time.....

will be another year for me:sniff:

hey jenny, so did you get your letter already stating that you will have to wait another year?? I haven't received my letter yet either..im so anxious. So they already picked students for fall 2010 and spring 2010. What is the second selection lottery, is that for next spring of 2010? im confused..:(

i didn't get any letter. i just called them. they told me that all the acceptance letters had been sent out last week. they already picked 170 students to take the teas for fall 2010 (not spring 2011)they told me to wait 2 more weeks. because they will need to look at the result of the test, then they will decide how many more students can be accepted.

btw, is it your frist time applying the program in cerritos? are u waiting any other institutions?

oh ok, but how many students will they accept for fall because isn't 170 too much for 1 semester or is the 170 for both fall 10 and spring 11? Yeah well i guess i hope to hear from them soon, and hopefully we will be accepted! Tell me if you get the letter! :)

yeah this is my first time applying to cerritos college. I also applied at Saddleback college which is my first time too and much closer to me. What about you have you applied any where else?

that 's what they told me. i am confused too. but they said there will be another chance in about 2 weeks. i guess you should call the health science center to make it clear. i applied 5 schools. this is my first try...
