2023 Applications to UBC and UVic NP program

Updated:   Published

Hi all,

I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.

So exciting and congratulations everyone!! I haven't heard anything yet, crossing my fingers!

My last name is in the middle of the alphabet- so hopefully that's a sign they are only halfway through?!

Thank you ?

This gives me hope as my last name is at the end of the alphabet. The suspense is killing me!

I got a call for an interview this morning as well! Good luck everyone ?

Is there anyone else who has applied to TRU? If so, how/when did you submit your references information?

I submitted my application yesterday afternoon and received the confirmation email from BC Education Planner but nothing else. After a while I emailed their grad admissions email to ask but didn't hear back from them either.

I'm just nervous because it's such a quick turn around and I want to give my references as much time as possible! I had (wrongfully?) assumed it would be an automatic email after submitting. I'm not sure if something has gone wrong or if whoever does it was already done for the week.

And I could have sworn during their Q+A they said we would submit their information and then they would send them the link, but now on their website it sounds like we're sending our references the link?

It's possible they will be sending the links and because it was a Friday afternoon, nobody was there to send them out?

I have been the first cohort of a program before. It can feel really stressful and disorganized and things will change about 20 times.

Specializes in Emergency, ICU, Urgent Care.

They will likely send an email to you on Monday, it's a link you will then forward to your references to fill out and submit.

Hey all!

Sort of unrelated but hoping someone here may have more knowledge than myself, or have a resource they can share. I'm wondering if you are employed by a Health Authority as an NP, do you receive a pension through MPP still? Or will I have to start managing my own retirement stuff. I have been searching the internet but haven't been able to find anything!

thanks!!

Nice to find this group!
Has anyone heard anything from UVic?

Haven't heard anything from UVic or UNBC yet.  Anybody else heard anything?

Nothing from UVic. Last year they updated the status on their applications portal somewhere around March 5th, so fingers crossed we hear this week!

Let's hope we hear from UVic this week! I think I'm driving my family crazy with my regular checking/wondering out loud about when we will have an answer ?
