Hi all,
I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.
Well. I don't think TRU is an option for me. I took a maternity leave and another one month leave because of childcare and then dropped to casual (again because of childcare) so I am literally 30 hours short of 3600 in the last five years. They said they aren't considering any exceptions for mat leaves. So I guess I will wait until next year and hope I work more hours this year than I did in 2018.
During their info session they were really clear that as long as you were close, still apply! They said if you were off by a hundred or more, then it might be an issue, but you'll be fine! ?
I did wonder if they looked "down" on mat leaves. I'm just finishing my second mat leave in the last 5 years too.
Oh really? When I emailed them they said because the program is so competitive they won't make any exceptions. I think I am otherwise a competitive candidate (good references, broad nursing background 4.26 GPA). It would suck to not even be looked at because I had the audacity to have children LOL.

I have young kids too. I figure there will never be a perfect time. Hopefully we hear soon.
