Hi all,
I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.

Is someone also able to forward the TRU email to me as well? [email protected]
I have contacted them and was told I was on their email list.... apparently not!
I also did a deep dive and found some info from last year on UVic: they didn't do interviews. The status of their applications changed to "recommended by department" before they received a conditional acceptance in March I believe, but it sounds like even some people didn't hear until April.

OMG really? oh jeez, I can not wait until April!! haha Thanks for letting us know! where'd you find that out anyway?
I hit "submit application" and I checked that the applications were completed, that is all I am doing, refraining from doing the weekly checks and just keeping busy.
I figure come April, I have two options:
a: I got an acceptance/interview request and can turn into an excited/anxious mess at that time;
or
b: I don't get in (which I am expecting, as my CV wasn't as strong as I wanted at the time of application), and I can work like an ugly stripper for another year and start the other stats class, seeing as the TRU 1201 is not longer accepted at UVIC.
I did apply at Ualberta, but since doing so, I don't think that is going to be a good fit - impulsive application I guess.
Kate McCullagh said:OK I think I just did the same deep dive as you haha. Yes looks like secondish week of march we should hopefully hear something. I am going to try and stop checking every day for the next few weeks haha, its driving me crazy.
Yeah, I've basically limited myself to one check per day. I am planning on being out of town the last week of February/first week of March so I'm hoping to hear soon so I know if I have to rearrange my plans!

And I'm still not clear if UVic is doing an interview, so I'd love the most notice possible so I can prep for an interview! It would be lovely to have more than a few days notice to prep! I also love that some folks will hopefully post here if they hear anything so it will let me know to check! And I'm sorry to hear about the stats course! I've just started the Athabasca social sciences stat course- goodbye all my money ?
Having notice would definitely help, from what I read too, they didn't have interviews last year or two. I don't mind zoom interviews, they can't smell the anxiety leaching out your pours while you are anxiously sweating your *** off trying not to mess up your big interview. LOL.
I figure I'll start the athabasca course as well come April or may if I don't get in (which I am expecting will be the plan).

I'm a bit concerned about the risk of them not getting accredited. I think I'll still apply though, and then make my mind up later if I get in.
Yeah, big grey area, so I guess it comes down to how comfortable you are with that grey area. I know a few people who are going to wait and let the first intake work out the kinks before they apply. I live 10 minutes away, so I will apply, but I have also applied at UNBC and UVIC. We should head back from them all around that same timeframe, so that is nice. ?♀️
im not holding my breath for this year, but we will see.
I think all the programs are bit disorganized from what I've heard, though I think this program will be a bit more so. I think I'll apply as a back up but probably not unless my other options don't pan out! I'm not excited about having to do another totally different personal statement and ask my references for a third reference... Maybe we will hear about other programs before mid march so it won't be an issue!?

Wow that seems so quick! It's exciting that there will be more opportunities for the NP Program:). In the meantime I'm still anxiously waiting for some news from UBC and UNBC.....crossing my fingers and toes for everyone!
