2023 Applications to UBC and UVic NP program

Hi all,

I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.

That's what mine says, and has said since I submitted in November. It looks like from previous years that UVic may just update their statuses on the applications portal instead of sending out emails.

Hey I sent an inquiry to TRU yesterday, just in case haha. This is the info I got, if anyone is interested.

They literally sent me different info two weeks ago ??‍♀️ They previously said they had a stats prerec too. So maybe take their guidelines with a grain of salt at this point?

I'm trying to put off the statistics prerequisite for UVic as long as possible (I.e. won't do it unless I'm accepted). It's hard to swallow the $1000 athabasca bill for a course that I've heard isn't very helpful. Has anyone started the stats course?

Has anyone applied to UNBC? I applied for the September intake in addition to UBC. I haven't heard anything back from either school and my status on the UBC application page just states "in progress". How long do they typically take to send out the rejection letters?

I just sent it. I also realised I misread your email from them earlier and stats was on the list!! Whoops.

I didn't. I did some of the rural/remote program with them and found their methods of teaching rather lacking- plus driving up to PG from the Lower Mainland in Winter is not my idea of fun! But I think their program was still quite new when I was up there, so it's probably quite different now. Let us know if you hear anything!

No worries, thanks for sharing your experience with UNBC. Also thanks for sharing the TRU info. Are they planning on May 2023 class or are they referring to next year?
