2023 Applications to UBC and UVic NP program

Hi all,

I've applied to both programs to start in September 2023, and wanting to commiserate with anyone else who is anxiously waiting to hear. Looking back at previous years I'm feeling a bit discouraged since the admissions average seemed to be higher than I had been told by colleagues. Anyhow, let me know if you also applied and when you hear back from schools! Wishing you all the best of luck.

Does anyone know how long the waitlists typically are for UBC and UVIC?

I don't believe the number of applicants is publicly available anywhere. As for number of seats:

UBC- 30

Uvic- 25 (I think, 5 are post-degree seats)

TRU- 15

UNBC- I'm not sure, is it 15 or 20?

I think I read somewhere that either UBC or UVIC had almost 200 applications last year? At some point in my deep dive I did find stats for one of those schools for the last few years, it was doubling every year since Covid...
Now I just can't remember which school but yeah. They used to be something like 60-70 applicants per 35 seats prior to Covid. Certainly now is not the smart time to be applying to these programs unless you're extremely qualified (which apparently many are on this forum, congrats again to everyone whose been accepted so far!).

My UVIC status is now "Provisionally Admitted"!

I have not received an official email though.

My acceptance letter says we have until April 14th to accept so I'd imagine they might be making offers until then.

It sounds like offers are trickling in and it's not an automatic process
