Application photo?

Other than to see someones ethnicity what is the purpose for attaching a photo to an application? Isn't this against the law and discrimination?

should I i send a pro shot or just get my mom to take a head shot of me on the home camera?

Not sure how a Photo is going to identify Ethnicity. No one looking at me would be able to identify my ethnicity without asking. In some people it might "seem" a little more obvious but it often is assumed wrong.

I'd go with the latter but then have it printed commercially (e.g. Costco)

Mine was a picture someone took of me at work with their phone. I just printed it on regular paper. Make sure your application is perfect before you glue it on. Good luck

Usually, the reason given is to "put a face with the name". Riiiiiiight.

I just took Micro with about 50 nursing students. Some of them need instruction on what professional appearance is. If that school had required a photo, maybe more professional students would get accepted. Just a theory!!

my school attatched a picture to the app as well.. i asked why and the recruiter told me that once they had a mother-daughter team try to trick them. the mom came in and took her entrance exam and did her interview for her, then the daughter just stepped in to take her place in the class.. of course they caught them, but they said they have the pictures on there so they can make sure its you when you show up.. and she said it helps them remember who you were when they are selecting applicants. *shrugs* i didnt really care.
