2014 Applicants

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hi everyone,

Who here is applying for 2014? What schools are you applying to?.

I am applying to BHCC for their weekend program, RCC for their evening program, and Massasoit for their evening program.

Good luck to everyone!!! :D

I'm in Richmond, VA and am waiting to find out if I've been accepted to Bon Secours' BSN program. I'm a second-degree/career changer. Our applications were due 3/15, and we should hear by mid-May! I have a 3.59 from my first degree and am working on courses this summer. They don't have pre-reqs since it's sort of a traditional program, but I'll have the first year of gen eds done! I also may retake the TEAS if I don't get in this time. 88% adjusted, 98th percentile. We'll see!! Good luck to everyone still applying :)

Hello everyone, have you heard about the new changes WSU has implemented, prior to Fall 2014? Well I just attended one of their CD2 information meeting (my second) which informed the applicants that their will no longer be any interviews, and no more 24 hours pre-req for BSN shadowing will be required. The reasons they gave...'It was very difficult for the applicants to get permission to shadowing BSN for safety and legal privacy issues'. Wow... Now they change that pre-req rule....after I searched for over 3 months and finally got 40 hours of BSN shadowing...and especially after I was told repeatedly...No No No! I guess the shadowing was not wasted...because. boy have things changed...so much is computerized now...compared to now and then!

Now comes the dreaded long, long, long wait until June 30, 2014 for an acceptance notification on Con. That wait is going to be torture for me...just waiting...because I am so happy that all my pre-reqs are done and my application process is complete...now comes the wait. How about you? I planned on utilizing that time to go over NCLEX questions.

How about you...do you still have pre-reqs to complete? Have you applied to other schools? If so, which school do you think is the best for you? Good luck everyone. let's keep in touch and support one another. By the way I do not have face book so I can't join you there. let's talk for our future!

I am in Texas and applying to NCTC for their Fall 2014 RN program. All pre-reqs completed and nervous as heck about the Kaplan entrance exam!!! Good luck to all!!!

Hello Mckinneygrl, I too am going to be applying to NCTC for fall 2014. Do you know when the Kaplan will be given?

I reapplied to the ADN program at Washington State Community College in Marietta, Ohio. I was accepted for the Fall 2013 start, but substantial circumstances kept me from entering. Hoping and praying to get in again. Nothing's stopping me this time! Waiting on that letter is tremendously difficult. They are supposed to be mailed mid to late April. Wishing good luck to everyone still waiting and a big congratulations to all who have been accepted!!! :)

Thought I'd come back and update. I got in!!!!!!! :D :woot:

I applied to Chemeketa Community College in Salem, OR (ADN), OHSU at Western Oregon University (BSN) and Clackamas Community College (ADN) in Portland, OR. No decisions yet; invite to the essay for Chemeketa and still waiting to hear from OHSU and Clackamas. The next few months will be torture! Thank goodness I have some Humanities courses I can take while waiting...

Another update: I was accepted at OHSU!! I'm still waiting to hear from the other schools, but it is SO nice to know that I have at least one option open. Good luck, everyone!

Hello all! I'm in Memphis,TN and I've received my acceptance letter from Baptist College of Health Sciences for their BSN program this fall 2014. Congrats to all!

Congrats!!!! The letters for Massasoit go out the first week of May according to the admissions office. (Fingers crossed) I also applied to MCPHS University for a BS in Diagnostic Medical Sonography as a backup. It's the waiting game (sigh)

Waiting on my denial letter as they have sent out and been received by others for an interview. I feel broken and let down..... I'm running out of money to keep taking classes to up my gpa. At this point I'm thinking of giving up.

Yes, I can totally relate. I'm having to lower my standard just to get my foot in the door. I know you do not feel like trying anymore. It's been the worst experience being rejected (yes, I received 2 rejections this semester) so I'm taking an Lvn spot and moving forward. Please know that there are others who feel your disappointment too, I'm truly sorry. Take some time off and away. Focus on something that makes you happy for awhile so you can recharge your happiness and your confidence. Will be thinking of you and know at your lowest point, right around the corner will be some new options.

Thanks:) I just didn't apply anywhere else. My one AP class I received a "b" in lab and a "c" in lecture and I have a "c" in philosophy otherwise done well mostly A's and few B's. Just wondering even if I did retake the ap and made an A they would average them both:/ so it's not worth it. I know I would be am amazing nursing but I wasn't even given a chance for them to ask me.

So... I got wait listed for Massasoit's evening program. I got accepted to MCPHS. BIG difference in $, community college vs private school. hmmmmm

I'm very frustrated. I met the minimum requirements for the nursing program I applied for and never received an interview letter. Then my professor comes to talk to me and tells me she doesn't understand why I was not invited to interview as well. Ugh did they lose my application? I have emailed and called the nursing department which has gotten me no where. I'm very frustrated because now they have all been picked and I haven't even got a denial letter.
