How's everyone doing with their Apps?
I applied to MHCC, CCC, PCC and Linfield.
It's my first year applying and I'm a nervous wreck!!!
How long does it usually take to hear whether or not you got an interview?
I was glad to see CCC changed their deadline to Feb 15th like the other OCNE schools-I think it'll make the waiting more bearable!
Anyone else want to share points to see how tight the competition is this year?
Other than Mt. Hood, I don't get too many discretionary points.
Heres what I *think* I have (figuring them myself):
MHCC-63 points
CCC-50 or 51 points depending on how they round up your gpa
PCC-54 points
Good luck everyone!!!
Let the nail biting, stalking the mailbox begin!
Please remember to tell us the number of points you had to get an interview for each school!Congrats Ladies! :)
Probably does help sort this stuff out to note the points - I have 61 going into the interview I'm guessing thats just about in the middle of the range (mean) but its just a wild guess.
Hang in there everyone -
When I was there on Monday, they told me that the letters went out, but I just called and talked with -------. She says, "It is going out today or tomorrow."
I am done with PCC's essay, but I really want to to Mt hood cc.:redbeathe. PCC will send out their final letters on May 16th. It is too long to wait!!!
I do not have any letters from CCC, but I do not even want to have a letter from them. I am not ready for any rejaction!!
MHCC is starting to really get on my nerves, with all that's going on with the potential strike they apparently can't get anything done, even the simple task of putting a few hundred envelops in their mail bags. what the hey.
The wait is killing me as well!! There is not going to be any strike. They resolved their issues!
I got my "official" rejection notice from CCC today! Weee. Minimum points required to make the first cut are 58 (I wish they would have published that BEFORE I spent the $40 or whatever to apply). Even with my perfect GPA, the only way you can get up to those points is to have a prior degree. I don't know why it's fair to have to have a prior degree to get accepted into these programs. Many people don't... that's why they are back in college, and I think that the grades are a pretty good indicator of how successful you are as a student. It almost feels like the circular problem of: "I would like to apply for college." "OK, do you have a prior degree?" "No." "I sorry, I'm afraid you're not college material then." I worked my ass off over the last 14-16 months to get perfect grades, sacrificed my free time to study late and on weekends, and really put everything into being the best. Just a little frustrated is all. Rant over

I'm curious as to what you mean by "bad reputation all around".
