Hi Everyone!
I'm just putting my feelers out to find others applying to the BSN program at Chico State for the Fall of 2014. The deadline to apply is in a week, so I'm getting excited and antsy!! I am from Arcata (Humboldt County) and live here currently, but I am excited to be hopefully moving to Chico in the fall!!
Hi everyone! I've totally been following this blog without posting but I figured I would let you guys know some info.. I work in the admin building at CSU Chico's campus and ---------------- (head of nursing department) came into my office yesterday. So, of course I asked her a bunch of questions and she said there were 300+ applicants but around 50-60 were disqualified for various reasons. She also said that their ultimate goal is to let everyone know by May 1st, if not before then. Hope you are all doing well, only a few more days till we find out!! :)
Welcome!
Thank you so much updating us! Wow.... That is a lot of people. I hope we are notified before May 1st but I guess they really are flooded with applications. This is probably the application cycle where they had the highest number of applicants!
How many points do you have? :)
Hey guys, I got my acceptance letter in the mail on Wednesday. In the packet they detail what exempts you from the "enrollment confirmation deposit" (an expected family contribution of 5200 or less, admission into EOP program, or, as I understand it, being a transfer student)...
I have three other applications awaiting a decision still. Does anyone know if I'll be penalized if I confirm my enrollment to Chico, but change my mind if I get accepted to another school after May 1st?

As far as I know (and have read from past threads), you are not penalized for accepting another school's offer after confirming your intent to enroll at Chico. If my understanding is correct, I believe you will have to get in contact with the SON and admissions office to notify them that you have accepted elsewhere (so another person on the waiting list can fill your spot). Perhaps you should call the admissions office and/or SON to confirm that the information I am giving you is correct so you have a peace of mind.
If I may ask, where else are you waiting to hear back from?
Good luck!
Oh goodness, I thought you meant your nursing school acceptance for a second, and I was like WHATT why didn't I get mine yet?? Haha. If I were you, I would definitely do the intent to enroll because you are exempt, so it's not like you are wasting 200 bucks. And then if you get in somewhere else, just tell Chico ASAP so someone from the waiting list can get in.
Welcome to the forum, by the way!
Hey guys,I also am waiting on responses from San Francisco, San Marcos, and Bakersfield. San Francisco is the first choice due to job opportunities for my other half.
Have any of you heard back from other schools? I'll be making some phone calls tomorrow.
Awww, well I hope that you get accepted into your first choice! :)
When will you be hearing back from them?
Like you, aside from Chico, I am waiting to hear back from Bakersfield and an ADN program (Los Angeles County College of Nursing). It really sucks that we don't get to hear from Bakersfield until July.
I also applied to CSU Long Beach but was denied admission because the Chemistry course that I took at my CC does not articulate with their Chemistry course (which is weird because the description is the same). Oh well!
Hi davidsrego, I have heard back from 2 of the 6 schools I applied to. Neither or which are my first choice. But options are also a positive in this case. Good luck! Do you know when you are expected to hear back from those schools?
Awww, I remember you told me you heard good news from Mendo! Where else have you heard back from? :)
P.S: If I remember correctly, you ended up having to pay a deposit for Mendo, didn't you? :|
