Applicants to Chico for Fall 2014??

Hi Everyone!

I'm just putting my feelers out to find others applying to the BSN program at Chico State for the Fall of 2014. The deadline to apply is in a week, so I'm getting excited and antsy!! I am from Arcata (Humboldt County) and live here currently, but I am excited to be hopefully moving to Chico in the fall!!

I'm just wondering if anyone has been notified about acceptance into the school as a transfer student yet (not the nursing program). It seems like they should tell us that before telling us we are into the nursing program right? So impatient!

Hi, yes I got a packet in the mail dated feb. 25 that I was accepted into the school and I am a transfer student. I looked in my portal and could see my admissions decision before I received the letter and other info in the mail. Maybe check your portal, if you haven't in awhile?

I've checked my portal and it still says "pending." I think it's because I waited until the last minute to send transcripts and then they were getting tons at the same time, but they were all postmarked before the deadline. Hmm, maybe I'll call and check in. Thanks.

Ya usually they review on a first come first serve basis, I believe. You could do that just to make sure. I am sure it's fine but to help ease your mind. That's what mine said for the longest time it felt like.

@caligirl7: First off, Congratulations on your acceptance to Chico! Hopefully you receive an acceptance notification from the SON within two weeks! Around when did you submit your application to the University and when did your status finally change?

We're on the same boat! Like you, I also sent a transcript around the time when they were receiving transcripts but later on called to confirm that it was received. They're probably still processing applications...

@allaboutkitties: That was what my status said up until yesterday and now it says that I was accepted. I eventually called to see what was up, and they seemed to be confused about one of my transcripts, which was what was taking them so long, but once I explained things they updated it that day. I would definitely recommend calling just for peace of mind. Good luck!

Thank you! Hopefully we all get in. I applied to the University on Oct. 5th. I don't know when my status officially changed in my portal, but it was a few days before I received the letter of admissions dated Feb. 25th

Thanks you guys! I am out of town till tomorrow but I will definitely be calling tomorrow as soon as I get home. Perhaps they still haven't gotten around to it or they're might be a hold (although I turned in all required paperwork).

Is Chico both of your first choice?

P.S: Curlypearly, thanks for moving the thread to the California section. I was literally just about to suggest it and then I noticed you did it. Hopefully more people join in!

Allaboutkitties, do you have a bachelors already? They don't accept those students generally until you get accepted into the program. Good luck!

Yes allaboutkitties, Chico is my first choice. Is it yours, as well?

I didn't realize that it had been moved to a different section, I don't even know how to do that, hah! Maybe it moves when there is a certain number of comments or something. Chico is my top (and only) choice!! Hope to see you all there!
