Where do you live ? Can you consider taking a job as a Nursing tech or unit secretary in a hospital, just to get your foot in the door ? That way, if your employer and co-workers like you, you'll be first in line when a position opens up.
I live in the los angeles area, and usually those positions arent available and if they are they require a year of experience =[

Depending on where you live, hospitals in your area may no longer be hiring LPNs at all. I know no hospitals in my region hire LPNs.
Try for a subacute/rehab/transitional care unit where you will see more acuity than in a traditional LTC.
@cynop
your right, my mom works for a rehab center with some patients from kaiser coming maybe i should work there

No hospital in my area hires LPNs any longer. Those LPNs who are still in the hospital are currently in LPN-RN program. I think there are no hospitals who are hiring LPNs at all these days.

Not a lot of them hiring, but there is some. You just have to try harder and the best way through agency. Flu shot immunization accept LVN as well, do it for a time being. And if you get a nursing home do not even think about letting it go. Any experience and any job is better than nothing. Right now LVN's, RN's new grads and expereinced ones are looking to get something. So just get into something while pursuing for a hospital job.
Good luck to you and I will pray for you.

The VA Hospital hires LVNs/LPNs. Right now in Los Angeles they have a LVN position for their outpatient clinic. Good luck!

I just did my 1st day of clinical today and I didn't see any LPNs on the floor. :/ Good luck to you!!! I'm sure you'll find a job somewhere.

No one in my area hires LPN for hospital work. All the LPNs in my area work nursing home. But where I went to school they tell you up front that if you stop at LPN then you will not likely get hired at a hospital. Did they tell you that you would get a hospital job?
@misplaced1
yea they did tell me that, and thats because they actually did, 4 of my classmates have hospital jobs now

Most hospitals in our area don't use lvn's i would probably consider a nursing home job to get started. good luck
