So not 100% sure I can afford this crazy idea. Since both classes combine cost $2K at the CC with books and all. However, if I do this and Chem and the TEAS in the fall I can expedite myself hopefully in a nursing program by the Fall of 2017 not 2018.
Just curious how many people have jammed AP1 and 2 in the Summer? Smart move I work 32 hour's a week can cut back 8 hour's. Appreciate the feedback.

I'm currently taking an 8 week online A&P I and plan to take A&P II in the next session it's offered, likely shortly after finishing A&P I. It's certainly do able. I'm working a full time job with an average of 1.75 hours commuting each day on top of that.
Cool how you doing the lab part?
Yeah I am hoping work will be flexible have to touch base with them. Its a 6 week class Monday-Thursday 8-12

I don't think you would be able to complete both AP 1 and AP 2 in a single summer. At the CC I attended each course was a quarter long and you had to complete AP 1 before starting AP 2. If your program is different and allows AP courses to be completed A-term/B-term or otherwise accommodates taking both you can certainly try it, though I would recommend cutting back on work hours somewhat as that is a lot of information to absorb in a single summer.
I know I am debating cut back on work hours get to school quicker or save on money take longer it's a tough call. I can do an emt class pick up some side money for a third job.

Lab is also online. Just log on and go through the module. I did the first lab last night and it was a lot like the practice tests in the LearnSmart program that goes with our book but with a lot of label the figures, answer questions about the figures, and some videos of physiology stuff then questions about the video. You have three attempts to go through the module and get credited with the best score you earn, were 42 questions on that one. You score the questions as you answer them and if you get something wrong it'll tell you the correct answer and usually provide some explanation. I got a perfect score on the second attempts so no need for a third attempt.
I work a full time, regular hours job so online classes is my best options. When I take Micro it'll be similar but I will have to go on campus for labs on Saturdays a few times during that class. I have a previous Biology degree and took Micro then, just too long ago to count for my pre-reqs now. Plus I work in a biotech lab and actually help out and DO some micro testing so... I'm not worried about micro.

My CC requires that you take AP1 before taking AP 2 and you can't take them simultaneously. The rules may be different at your CC though. However, taking two AP's accelerated over the summer might be a bit much. If you can, I would recommend taking Chem with AP 1 in the summer and in the fall, study for the TEAS and take AP 2. I understand that you want to get into a program sooner, but you don't want to rush things and have it affect your GPA. Schools are really competitive so you want to apply with the highest GPA you can possibly get and with a high TEAS score in order to ensure you get into your program of choice.

$2,000 combined? We used the same book for 1 and 2 as well. Plus as the poster above me said, and it might be different at your CC, but you had to get a C or better in A&P 1 to be able to take A&P 2. Also agree with you want the highest GPA possible, as every point matters.
I wouldn't do it but there are a few people in my A&P I class taking A&P II at the same time. So it's allowed at my CC, but again I wouldn't suggest that. Taking them back to back in summer session shouldn't be a big deal though. My A&P I class is the last of the spring sessions, I'll likely sign up for A&P II in the first summer session if it's offered. I believe it is but not positive.
As far as costs. The tuition and fees for me were $685, and the book plus rights to online course material for both A&P I and A&P II was $315 (with rush shipping). About $30 cheaper if you don't want the physical book and are fine with the e-book. So both classes will be about $1685 for me.
Taking it in the fall don't want to mess with GPA. It's about $150 a credit ay my CC. So there's a lab and a registration processing fee that combines cost $200. So about $800 for any science classes taken at the CC. I usually rent my books online, which I found out stinks. The book I rented was missing the login key number had to pay $80 to get!
It is what it is. I am trying to avoid using FA until in a program. After each semester if my grade is a 3.0 or higher I receive $500 from my employer so not terrible.
Basically this is how I want my pre requisites to go logistically

I took them both over the summer several years ago at a local university. Each was 5 weeks long. A&P1 started just before Memorial Day and A&P2 started just after the 4th of July. It was a lot of work and the Univeristy I took them at is known for being super tough. At least 50% of the students in A&P1 were repeating since they didn't pass the first time and our numbers def. dropped in A&P2 from people not passing A&P1. I didn't work during those classes and it ended up being great prep for my accelerated BSN program. I'd record lectures if it's allowed and when you miss something jot down a note of the time during the recording- that way you can find that section when studying later since you won't have time to listen to the tire lecture again. Good luck!
