AP1 and 2 over the Summer

So not 100% sure I can afford this crazy idea. Since both classes combine cost $2K at the CC with books and all. However, if I do this and Chem and the TEAS in the fall I can expedite myself hopefully in a nursing program by the Fall of 2017 not 2018.

Just curious how many people have jammed AP1 and 2 in the Summer? Smart move I work 32 hour's a week can cut back 8 hour's. Appreciate the feedback.

Most of the time you can get used older editions of books on Amazon super cheap (just have to plan ahead since shipping can be slow). If you'll use the book for more than one course (like A&p) it can def. be worth it to buy it instead of renting. Just need to shop around and compare prices (Amazon, chegg, etc.).

I took them last summer, while working 20 hours a week. It was pretty fast-paced, but doable. If you want to start nursing school sooner and are prepared to work at a faster pace than in a normal semester-long class, I'd definitely recommend it. (It worked well for me--I start an accelerated program in June.)

If you did A&P as summer courses, how would that fit with the rest of your prerequisite courses?

I took them both over the summer several years ago at a local university. Each was 5 weeks long. A&P1 started just before Memorial Day and A&P2 started just after the 4th of July. It was a lot of work and the Univeristy I took them at is known for being super tough. At least 50% of the students in A&P1 were repeating since they didn't pass the first time and our numbers def. dropped in A&P2 from people not passing A&P1. I didn't work during those classes and it ended up being great prep for my accelerated BSN program. I'd record lectures if it's allowed and when you miss something jot down a note of the time during the recording- that way you can find that section when studying later since you won't have time to listen to the tire lecture again. Good luck!

It would be great prep. I am holding out on changing my work schedule since I plan to work 24 hour's during the Accelerated program to pay for rent and continue to have insurance. One 16 hour shift every Saturday and a rotating 8 hour shift Friday/Sunday.

Quota, did you took A&P 1 and 2 online and if yes, do you mind sharing where?

I am desperately looking into A&P online since my school does not offer it during summer, if anyone has a college that is accredited and offers everything online, let me know.

Just my local community college but you have to be local. Tests have to be taken in person at one of their testing centers, multiple campuses though. Works great for me since I live about 5 minutes from one of the campuses. Everything else can be done at home on your own schedule, within deadlines of course. 2 weeks into the first 8 week course and liking it so far.
