has anyone worked as a CARE manager for Senior Bridge?

I got an email from a recruiter for care manager positions with Senior Bridge in my area. I've looked at their website & I think it's something I may be interested in. It's not home health care per se, it is more interviewing and documentation. The point is to prevent hospital re-admissions.

Just wondering if anyone can share personal experience with this kind of thing. Thanks!

Thank you so much for the input everyone. It has been so helpful, as I too almost signed with an agency. There was no contract, never received an ID, but I filled out a document that contained my RN license number and address. Does this constitute as having officially signed with an agency?

@cathiwithani, were you able to be released and did you get the position with Humana?

Thank you

Only if you signed the noncompeting agreement would there be anything you need to get out of. You're good.

I'm working on getting released, otherwise I need to wait six months! The agency pushed me to start seeing patients before I had my Humana ID or password which is against Humana policy. If they don't release me, there might be consequences that wouldn't be good for their agency if I passed on this information... I just sent the email Friday and am waiting to hear their response.

Thank you Cathi! I hope the agency agrees to release you soon.

I hear it is hard to get patients if your are independent. Has anyone worked as an independent contractor and had any problems getting patients?

Hey everyone, How does one start a new topic thread on this site? I can't find a place to click on to do this! : }

Specializes in Home Health.

@cathiwithani - Did you you state they are no longer hiring LVN's.

No, someone else did. Don't know anything about that.

No.. It's not hard to receive patients. I'm independent and could have a lot of members if I wanted them. I'm picky and wait for ones in my immediate area. If you don't mind driving a distance you can probably build your caseload faster.

My specialist told me that. I'm not sure if it pertains to just my area which is SC/ NC. I have heard of other LPN's still being accepted.

Thanks for the info jlminnc, LPN! Do you still work for them? I've been in surgery as an RNFA, but looking to change career. We live in a rural area, and I could cover a wide range. Does having this position give you a lot of tax deductions, since you travel and are independent?

I'm wondering that too, about Care Scout. I wonder if you could be a care manager through 2 diff insurance companies, so you would have enough work?

Care scout only hires RN's. Life plans will hire LPN's but you get very limited work because the insurance companies require RN's for their Long term benefit's assessments. LPN's can do IASN assessments for life plans. Those are assessments for people applying for long term care insurance. In other words they aren't using their benefits yet. You will do the face to face interview for people applying for long term care insurance.

As far as being able to do both Life Plans and Humana.. The answer is yes! They are two totally different kinds of insurance. Life Plans and care scout are long term care insurance and Humana is Medicare major medical insurance.

I am still doing this and loving it. Lots of freedom and I am my own boss. I do have a lot of deductions , but I take anywhere from 15-20% out of each of my checks and hold it back for taxes. The more members that you are assigned the more taxes you will need to hold back. The best thing to do is ask the person that does your taxes the best way for you to go about this.
