Anyone watch Nurse Jackie?

For those not familiar with it, it's a series on Showtime. I realize many of you have time constraints and watching a series may be the least of your worries but does anyone here watch it?

I kind of like it although it's not very realistic in some aspects. In some it is.

Ive never seen Dexter and The C word. Right now im into Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Greys Anatomy.

I have been reading Water for Elephants.. because I am determined to finish it before the movie comes out and wrecks the book... usually thats what happens. Fantastic book, crappy movie.

I will be checking out Nurse Jackie though :)

Oh...I :redbeathe Dexter. I use to work for a major cable company when it came out and could never understand why everyone loved a series about a serial killer so much...until I started watching it that is. The season is over now and I cannot wait until the next one. It is worth watching from the first season.

I really like the C word too. It gives real insight on how people go through different stages when dealing with something hard.

Oh...by the way...I've just watched 5 episodes of Mercy...thanks Sarah. I'm hooked. :p

I hate this show. I think that it portrays nurses unfairly, and gives a very negative view of the nursing profession in general.

I've never seen Nurse Jackie but I have seen Hawthorne. I love Jada Pinkett Smith. I also liked Mercy. Its too bad it was cancelled.

I love "House" because Hugh Laurie's snarky remarks are the stuff of legends. I don't care if the show doesn't represent the reality of life in a hospital; heck, I deal with that all week long.

"Scrubs" was really funny in its prime. The "Safety Dance" episode still pops into my head every now and then.

I do! I love Nurse Jackie!:heartbeat It's a fun show!

I realize that she's a deeply flowed character, with all her drug problems, cheating, cursing, sex on the job, and many many other wrondoings... But hey, it's hollywood, and those things make the show entertaining...

I also think she has some wery good traits, she's a good nurse, lots of experience, jugles everyhting, goes the extra mile for so many patients, gutsy, non-nonsense, loves her kids, her job, is a pretty good friend, doesn't take crap from anyone... so I do look up to SOME of her good traits.

I just hope that some of the pre-nursing students that are not familiar with the legislation, standards and all that don't think that it's okay to be like her... drugs, cursing, stealing etc... It's a show!:o

no it's not realistic. At all. Maybe her crabbiness at times, but that's it. Although her skankiness may be true, but that skankiness can be true of anyone in any job.

I definitely don't want to relate to her in those aspects either but reality is, although it may not happen how it happens on the show, it does happen.

Plenty of people have affairs with co workers and there certainly have been cases where nurses have stolen meds for their use.

I think the producers of the show have a bigger purpose rather then trying to make nurses look a certain way. It's a bit deeper.

nah, I don't think so. It's just shocking entertainment on par with other Showtime shows. Even though nurses/docs have the highest rates of diversion of narcs, it's unfortunate that this sad statistic has to be used in this show - even though it's entertaining, it makes a non medical person believe this is how ALL ER nurses behave. Please.

I tried watching it.. but when the first episode showed her having sex at work and taking narcs from patients I was liek mehhh... I like Grey's Anatomy better (even though its unrealistic) I liked the season where McDreamy was dating the OR nurse. At least that show actually SHOWS that nurses exist... unlike House. My parents cant even watch House with me because I get so angry at how unrealistic it is. YOU find me a doctor who will put in a catheter and start an IV for me :)

I actually have had med students and first year residents ask for them to start IV's or insert Foley's so they can learn. I love helping them. It's great to introduce them to these things. Though once they've moved on, they'll never have to do them again, so it's important that they learn while they're young to the profession.

I like all of the aforementioned shows. They aren't meant to be realistic, they're meant to be entertaining. If you want realistic go to discovery health! Love Nurse Jackie been waiting for this season to start up and had to catch up on demand last week!! Do you guys watch Californiacation or Dexter? and for that matter...the C word and Weeds and True Blood?

yeahh...I'm a TV addict...lol

love True Blood. Have you read Charlaine Harris' books that TB is based?

A M A Z I N G set. Truly. Dexter is the best. So was Six Feet Under, and of course The Sopranos. The Midas Touch with those producers/Directors.
