Hi, I'm looking for a reliable recruiting agency to help me find a job placement in AZ, as an LPN. Do you know any? What chances do I have to find a job as an LPN in USA. Thanx a lot, your help means a lot to me.

You are unable to get a visa to work in the US as an LPN. You must have the RN after your name to qualify for the NAFTA TN Visa, as well as the green card. There are no temporary work permits available otherwise for LPNs and you must have a visa to work here.

Immigration requires the Registered Nursing license.

Hi,

I am just starting the process with a recruiting agency to place me in California for a year. Myself and a friend are choosing to go with Canadian Travel Nurses, they advertise in the magazine 'Canadian Nurse', and we were referred by a colleague. Their contact info is:

Hi Suzanne..i'm in the middle of processing my visa screen.someone told me that I can just cross the border and have my TN visa(and apply for SSN after) and go back here while I wait for SSN to apply in California..and eventually my license.Do you know if New York is doing this?.My nearest border is Buffalo,NY..i planned to drive and be back in the afternoon. Will they ask for a job offer if i submit my VS for a TN visa?

THank you very much...ope to hear from you..

I too am interested in some information about this, as I would like to move to Wisconsin.

I am a canadian, australian educated (BSN) and I am curious to know if the TN visa is only a visa or is it a green card or both? Can you apply directly for a green card and skip over the whole TN visa issue if you have an offer of full time employment?

Additionally how long does it take for a green card to be issued to nurses (if professions matter) ? I would like to become a permanent resident of the states (WI) while maintaining my Canadian citizenship.

Thanks in advance

No, the TN visa is just a visa.A Green card is not involved. This would make it too easy to become a permanent Resident of the US.I don't really know alot about immigration, but I am positive that this is only a visa.Under the TN Visa, you can work legally in the US for a certain amount of time. The length of time can be adjusted for a longer period of time, I believe by request/renewal of the Visa.I advice you to go to : http://www.uscis.gov and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NAFTA. You will get specific answers to your question.

A TN visa is a 1yr visa. In cannot be renewed or extended, you must get a 'new' TN visa every year by either going to the border or submitting paperwork via mail.

A greencard is completely different, and although an employer may sponsor you for a greencard right away you will still need some sort of authorization to work while it is being processed. Most hospitals will have you get a TN or H1 visa and then will start the paperwork for a greencard. The greencard process is fast-tracked for nurses, and I've heard from others that it takes roughly 2 years from start to finish.

hello,,, can anyone explain to me the concept of RECIPROCITY???

How are you going to get a TN Visa if you have not even taken the exam? Or have you. You need to actually have a job offer to be able to get a TN Visa. I suggest that you take the time to read the Primer that you so graciously posted on another website without my permission and it is copyrighted material. But you never even bothered to ask.

So please read that Primer, you are going around in circles.
