Anyone waiting on acceptance letter from Tidewater Community College VA

U.S.A. Virginia

Hi Im a student at TCC and I submitted my application in middle end of April, just wondering how long it normally takes to hear something, I am waiting everyday for the mailman about to drive myself loco. Is anyone else waiting for there letter from TCC. Please share with me.

Hey, I applied by the May 15 deadline. Does anyone know when they should let me know about acceptance . . . or if i'm not accepted. It's killing me. I need to know. I'll get a letter one way or the other right?

I'm stressing about his big time.

How did you guys do with your pre-reqs and on your placement/nurse math exams? Maybe this will help me figure out if I'm going to be accepted. I'm not the most patient person.

You should recieve a letter by next month. Since you applied for late admission you would probably be starting in Cohort #3 or #4 which starts in January and March. Good luck im sure you will get accepted. It all falls back on your GPA and the point system. You will get a letter either way.

I hope I find out soon, I still need to get a physical and I'm not sure if I should just get one now and get it out of the way or what . . .

Also, I don't have health insurance, does anyone know where I can go to pay cash or maybe even a free clinic?

I would wait until you get your letter because they give you a sheet to take with you to get your physical everything you need to get done is on that sheet. Also if you don't have health insurance you can check your local health department and they can do it. I have a friend in school with me that didn't have health insurance and she got all of her physical done. I will check with her and find out where she went. What area do you live in?

I live in Norfolk . . . oceanview area

ok I will find out from here and send you an PM

I applied for early decision (December 15) and found out in April, it was weird because the letter was dated March 10...I was stressing out and bugging my husband about the mail because he did get home before me.

Although I hear you do not have to wait as long if you apply during the May deadline. Nonetheless the wait is excruciating, no matter how long.

I did get A's in all my prereqs did not have to take a nursing entrance exam since TCC is the only place I applied. Can't afford to go the BSN route right now, but will eventually... when does it end?

yeah it does seem like a very long wait. I did the same bugged my husband everyday about the letter. It was funny because I was going to go to NSU and they day before I got my letter I went to NSU new student orientation and even registered for class. The next day my husband bought my letter to my job to give it to me. It was the best feeling in the world. :yeah:

I STILL have not received my letter! It's really starting to get to me. Do the people who run the program not realize how unreasonable it is for them to take this long to send out the letters. I need to know if I'm in or not so that I can figure out what I am doing with my life! Can I start work? Do I look for a Nursing program elsewhere? It's killing me!

Just do what you would normally do don't sit and wait for the letter, get a job.. because who knows what cohort you'll be in. At least you would have started your job, invested enough time to the company and they may be able and want to work with your schedule if you decide to work part time. Look into other programs and see when you can apply, at least you would have an idea of a back up plan if you don't get in.

I waited 5 months after I turned in my application to get my letter. I submitted my application in November and did not hear back from them until April-May. I was stressing out, and was going to just settle on waiting until we went to the next duty station since his tour here was almost done. Right when I was to tell my husband that the letter came. So just do what your doing try not to stress, have a back up plan in place, and patiently wait (however hard that may be, I know!!) Maybe your in Cohort 3 or 4. So if you definitely are planning and wanting to go to TCC take whatever courses you may need to finish the RN associate degree.. like PHI 226, the computer requirement so all you have to concentrate on is just nursing classes once you get in.

Good luck. :redbeathe

Thanks for the advice, I really am trying to be as patient as possible. It makes me mad to think that there's the possibility that I didn't get in, and I'm still waiting. Also, I have taken every course that I need, even extras. All I need is the nursing courses. I even took both child development AND lifespan development in case I decide to transfer (I heard child development doesn't count toward a Nursing degree at most other schools). Maybe today will be the day. I called them last week, and of course got someone on the phone that was very rude, as usual. She yelled that she wasn't finished yet. They need to hire someone there that just answers the phones and answers questions, then maybe people will be able to find out what they would like to know.

I would guess that they need to officially accept you by mailing a letter, and an over the phone answer or an email is not official. She is probably getting a lot of phone calls. I am not sticking up for her nor do I know her but I can only imagine.. her frustrations. Her shoes are probably full too. I agree another person helping her would probably alleviate her frustrations though.

Just went to orientation and Ms Bell had said that letters are going to be going out this coming week and the week after that, she did also mention that there were still spots in cohort 1 and 2.
