Let's have some fun learning. Each person should throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember" before taking your finals, HESI, NCLEX, etc.
Updated:
OK I know this sounds stupid but I have a friend that gets really freaked out before big tests like finals, HESI, NCLEX, and usually we get together and a few days before I start throwing out random facts at her. On 2 different tests she said the only way she got several questions was from the random facts that I threw at her that she never would have thought of!
SOOOOO..... I thought that if yall wanted to do this we could get a thread going and try to throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember". NCLEX is coming and the more I try to review content the more I realize that I have forgotten so......here are my 5 random facts for ya:
OH and BTW these came from rationales in Kaplan or Saunders no made up stuff:
1️⃣ A kid with Hepatitis A can return to school 1 week within the onset of jaundice.
2️⃣ After a patient has dialysis they may have a slight fever...this is normal due to the fact that the dialysis solution is warmed by the machine.
3️⃣ Hyperkalemia presents on an EKG as tall peaked T-waves
4️⃣ The antidote for Mag Sulfate toxicity is ---Calcium Gluconate
5️⃣ Impetigo is a CONTAGEOUS skin disorder and the person needs to wash ALL linens and dishes seperate from the family. They also need to wash their hands frequently and avoid contact.
Oh, ohh, one more...
? Vasopressin is also known as antidiuretic hormone
OK your turn....
Buttercup! You were right about abdominal assessment! All the books that I consulted agree with you! The NCLEX book I told you about gives the following order: Inspect, auscultate, palpate, and percuss. However most of the nursing books give the following order: Inspect, auscultate, percuss and palpate.

I wasn't doubting you:D...but at least we know now.:)
R u having a hard time falling asleep tonight? I am in Chicago 3:45 am still doing questions on my laptop... Where r u in PA?
Hahaha, first of all, I have major insomnia which leads me to believe that I'll be an excellent midnight nurse. It's peaceful at night...I seem to get alot done at night. But as I said before, i took a klonopin early this afternoon to test it out...and slept for 5 hours so I'll definitely be awake longer So i know that I have to split my dose in half two weeks prior unto taking this exam. You won't believe the anxiety I face when i take tests....I can just imagine how I'll feel about the BIG ONE!
Yes I live in Pa, my daughter is over grammies so i can sleep in all i want tomorrow. If it was up to me, I'd stay up ALL night long.:chuckle Other nights I have to force myself to sleep...or else I like i said, I could be up all night. I'm telling you I'll make a great night nurse.

I like staying up late too. Mother of fact, I recently accepted a position with a local hospital in MICCU 7p-7a. In Illinois you have to have your license b/f starting working. The BON here does not issue temporary permits. You understand why in some states you HAVE to pass your NCLEX before starting working.
I am super confident. I never get test anxiety. It's how I am. I guess that I trust myself...
Thanks for posting on these threads and good luck on the test! R u in Pittsburgh?
