OK I know this sounds stupid but I have a friend that gets really freaked out before big tests like finals, HESI, NCLEX, and usually we get together and a few days before I start throwing out random facts at her. On 2 different tests she said the only way she got several questions was from the random facts that I threw at her that she never would have thought of!
SOOOOO..... I thought that if yall wanted to do this we could get a thread going and try to throw out 5 random facts or "things to remember". NCLEX is coming and the more I try to review content the more I realize that I have forgotten so......here are my 5 random facts for ya:
OH and BTW these came from rationales in Kaplan or Saunders no made up stuff:
1️⃣ A kid with Hepatitis A can return to school 1 week within the onset of jaundice.

They don't offer any workshops in Texas at this time where I am, but if I purchase just the books, will it be sufficient, or do you suggest I take the workshop also? I am willing to fly out wherever for the workshop if it is strongly recommended.
Guys you have given me a great idea on how to prepare myself besides the reviewing and practice questions. I am up against alot because my classes and license were in spanish! and I am a new grad. Keep it up!

Hi jadu I took sylvia rayfields course and I thought that it was wonderful! The thing they don't tell you when you sign up to take a class is that you can go to the review two more times after your first session of three days. Hey three for the price of one! They move very fast over the material, and you can sometimes get lost, but if that happens just as loretta to slow down. The course overall made me realize that the same way that you study for the NCLEX MUST be different from how you had to study for a reg nursing test. I highly reccomend this study course, it comes with a booklet "nursing made insanley easy", and a NCLEX booklet with a cd rom in the back of the book and over 1000 questions in it.

What a great idea for a thread!!! I just wrote my Canadian LPN exam, some of this stuff is above my scope, but so much of it is stuff I learned, and I find myself saying, "Oh yeah.... I forgot that one" One of the things I love about being a nurse is the infinite learning we do. Thanks for this thread, I subscribed and won't miss a single entry!

I attended the class after my first semester of my two year upper division nursing, and was COMPLETELY lost.
So much so that it was hard to pay attention...
However, the very next semester we could go over something and I would remember going over it. If you learn well by using acronyms, poems, songs, etc this is definately a course for you.
It does move it at a fast pace.
And the books are great!!
However, myself and fellow students often joke we paid 290.00 for two books...
I'm not so sure it is work the amount of money we paid for the content we reviewed.
That being said, I know they have different instructors at different locations. Perhaps mine was not so good.
Also, BE SURE that when they tell you that you can take it as many times as you like that they are indeed offering it at places you can attend.
It doesn't help to spend the three hundred dollars and then find out the next two chances you have to take it they aren't even offering it in your state.
Yeah, that happened.

& if you chose not to take the class... I would at least recommend buying the Nursing Made Easy book, it helps! you can buy it at Bookstores, Ebay, etc.
