Anyone think Kaplan harder than NCLEX?

Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi all~ I take NCLEX on Tuesday the 21st and have been pacing myself in taking the tests on the CD and I have two left. I've only been getting 61-67 percent so far and each test I take my score gets a little lower, i.e. I just got 61% on test #5, so I'm worried that my scores will keep sinking. :( In my Mosby book I get better scores, so I was just wondering if I could get a glimmer of hope that if anyone who has taken both Kaplan and NCLEX thought Kaplan was at all harder than NCLEX or if they're comparable or if, oh no...NCLEX is harder than the Kaplan questions???

Thanks!

i almost bought kaplan yesterday but i was told to buy another book instead. boy am i glad i did after everything i just read. if kaplan doesnt work for you try Saunders Comprehensive NCLEX Review. Its really big and intimidating but i hear its the best! Good Luck!!!!

Hmm ... here's hoping that Kaplan is harder than NCLEX.

I'm in the middle of my Kaplan course and got 66% on my diagnostic test - borderline. Yikes. Every test I've taken up until now -- Mosby's Assess Test, the RN-CAT, and all the NLN tests we took at the end of every semester -- my scores tended to be in the high 80s, and my percentile scores in the high 90s. So this Kaplan dx test was a bit of a shocker.

Sorry, I thought I wasn't clear. But yes, Kaplan is harder! But NCLEX can be difficult in that there is usually two good answers!

I just have to say I am glad to read it is not me -- I have been taking practice exams and just not doing well and in fact, getting worse. Thank you for helping me to realize it is not just me and I do have a chance at passing the NCLEX!

i took kaplan (scores ranging from 55-69 on qbank/trainers/diagnostic/readiness questions) and took nclex on the 21st... it seemed to me the best part of kaplan is preparing you for the type/style of question you will get on nclex. some of the questions kaplan gives you have such abstract rationales it's unlikely most GNs would be able to make the appropriate connections between the question and answer. i found many grammatical errors and contradictions in kaplan to be very impressed by them. yea u don't need 65%+ correct on all their questions to pass, that's a silly gimmick. i bet if the women who did the lectures didn't have prompters they would answer the questions wrong more often then not.

oh and i found out today i passed, only had 75 questions, felt i knew about almost everything they asked me... always felt i could throw 2-3 answers out. people saying it's the hardest test they have ever taken probably say that because they are so anxious and are doubtful. i wasn't tested on diseases i didn't know but maybe it was luck of the...

how anyone can say that kaplan was harder/easier than nclex doesn't quite make sense cause you never know the questions you got right or wrong or your percent correct.
