Anyone successfully challenge the boards?

Published

I have a degree in respiratory therapy, yet am having a hard time finding a job. I am working as a cna, going on my 7th year and I was hoping rt would be my next step up....unfortunately it's not working that way and I am considering challenging the boards via method 3.

Has anyone successfully done this? What tips do you have?

My post wasn't for you to grill me. No question was of any relevance to my post. Do you have a point? Or have you forgotten it? Because you can't seem to comprehend the purpose of the post and are acting as if you and I are supposed to be having a direct conversation....I don't know you. I don't care about your thoughts or opinions or questions. I started a thread to ask a question and you are not in any way answering it or even capable of doing so....I don't understand what you think your purpose is? Why am I supposed to be playing 21 questions with you? Your questions aren't even leading to anything remotely helpful or within range of my question :/

I asked several questions to clear things up. A lot of posts in your thread are very open ended & make no sense. Or when someone comments you get really upset & you think we should know why without you telling us. Maybe if you told us the whole story someone could help you in a different way instead of giving half truths & whole lies.

I didn't ask if I was qualified, I know I am. There really isn't need to be questioning me. I simply asked for those who've done this to share their experience. So no....my background isn't relevant because what does my background have to do with someone else's experience? I asked to hear personal accounts.

Because you keep getting pissed off at everyone who questions you. So more back story would be helpful.

Irrelevant to you because it's true. Kinda gives me an idea why you still searching for an RT job.

My local hospital is 32 bed capacity total. Rt department never hires. I live 100 miles from the next nearest town in each direction. The nursing homes don't hire RTS and the hospitals are farther.

I'm great at work.

I'm great in interviews.

I'm a team player.

I'm excellent in emergency situations.

I've never had a negative mark in the work place.

Buy by all means, random avatar on the internet....attempt to insult a stranger based on assumption and ignorance lol. Sigh....you two must be bored, really.

Such as what? I have all the nursing prerequisites completed. I have many of the core classes completed. But because I don't have any classes entitled "nursing theory" I'm not qualified? I have coached new grad RNS through their tasks, I have had to intervene when RNS made huge mistakes. I have done things I've been asked to educate my entire floor in the hospital on because the RNS were not skilled in doing it as I was. My work as a CNA was mostly in a huge hospital which was a great learning hospital. I have worked very close with many entities in that hospital, I have been doctors right hand, I have coached med students. But because I have CNA behind my name, you assume I am ignorant? Okay....

This post is why you have people commenting on you stepping out of the scope of your practice, you started the debate.

Hahaha I'm not even pissed off lol.

And how would back story help someone who is in another state and knows nothing about the topic? Why are you even responding? Lol

What are you talking about? I'm not even upset, I'm literally laughing. And again, I'm not interested in telling my life story....you are going off topic. You were never ON topic lol. Of course I gave bland answers, I'm not interested in telling random strangers every detail of my life. I simply wanted to hear stories of people who've done this lol you are so confused lol

I'm talking about when other posters pointed out how you never worked as an RT, how you taught RNs & MDs & corrected RNs. How were we suppose to know you worked as an RT in another state when you didn't tell us?

YOU brought it up but WE were suppose to know all the details. How?

We don't want your life story, we want your work/education history. .

Well, you werent....because the topic of conversation wasn't even supposed to be me....the post was:

But it is about you, you made it about you. If you won't discuss your work/education history it must rather shady.

Organized Chaos, you seem like a cool nurse to work for. I'm a CNA/PCT and I know better then to step outside my job description.
