Are you in a 4 year program? What humanities prereq's did you have to take? Just curious?
I just enrolled for the spring to take Algebra, and Devtl Psych. Starting slow, I guess. I plan on going for BSN though. By the way, is there any way you can finish up BSN (traditional track) faster by taking more classes? I'm afraid to do the online thing. I don't know what's going on with my BON in regards to that.
I'm not in any nursing program yet.Are you in a 4 year program? What humanities prereq's did you have to take? Just curious?
I plan to go the ADN route at a local community college. The humanities prereqs and coreqs in my area usually consist of Speech, English 101, Psych, Growth & Development, Sociology, and 1 elective. I just completed the English, Psych, Growth & Development and Sociology. Next semester I plan to take English 102, Speech, and A&P.
I'm pursuing my RN. I have my prereqs done and I'm currently waiting to hear back from an RN program for this coming Spring semester. I've only had my LVN license since May 06.
I'm going with a community college RN program. As an LVN you can apply to your school of choice and if accepted, you start in the 3rd semester of the program. Most schools start you in the winter or summer intersession, with a LVN to RN course.
I am finishing my first quarter of nursing school. I think at least half my class right now hope to go on to get their RN. If I were younger, I know, I certainly would do it. However, I am 55 years old, will be 56 before I graduate & hope to retire at 65 or 66. I really don't know if I want to give up another year or 2 of not working while persuing an RN and I definately don't want to work while going to school. I know that I will probably regret the decision but if I find a position I like, I'll stick with being "just" a LPN. I don't mind taking orders.

I've started online via Excelsior. Got my one non-nursing course - Sociology - out of the way, and take the Nursing COncepts 1 exam 12/27. Luckily, I have everything else I'll need done simply because I've been in college off and on since 1971, albeit never managing to finish a bachelor's.
I graduate from LVN school in Feb. 2007, I already have plans to enroll in an ASN program starting in July 2007. Then after that I plan to go RN-BSN. Yeah pretty quick, time is of the essence, my husband is in the Navy and we could be anywhere in a couple years. Want to take advantage of the time I have in one place.

I am just asking this question out of my own insatiable curiosity. I just finished my first semester of humanities prerequisites, and next semester I have registered to take A&P I, English 102, and Speech 101. Obviously, I plan on pursuing higher education because I think it will enhance my career opportunities.
Is there anyone else who plans on pursuing that RN license or is already in the process of doing it?
