Anyone out there who passed the Nclex RN scored 80 to 90

Published

Hi.,I took my Nclex this week and my test was sooo hard I got a lot of questions on drugs,I am so scared waiting or my results.please helppp!!!

From what I understood, the NCLEX was either pass or fail. If you're asking about the number of questions, I had 89 questions on my first attempt and passed. I was sure I had failed, I had a lot of drug questions too, and a lot of really obnoxious peds questions. In case it takes a while to get results, know that it took me 3 1/2 weeks for mine, and that wasn't even by mail. I called the BON number to use the automated system to check if I had a license and it told me that I did. That was the happiest day of my life.

Congrats to you guys, Hope OP becomes an "official" RN :)

I would be more concerned for you if you took 250+ questions before the computer shut down. You are probably fine.

Thanks for the reply.,I know how hard it is.,to wait for the results.,so nervous about it coz seems my test is so difficult.,Please include me in your prayers...Im so down...

In my state, (NE) we can check with the testing agency--through their website they give you the "unofficial" results. Also, check your board of nursing licensure website if you have one. I took boards on Friday--we were out of town for the weekend and my license was on the board Monday!!! Another friend at work took her NCLEX on Thursday--license was on website--granted ON THURSDAY!!!! Wow!! DONT WORRY!! I know it is easier said than done!

Thanks for the info etmx.,but until what number the computer shut off on you.,Im just kinda worried coz seems like my test was so difficult compared to my other friends who took the test on the same date. Congrats that you made it.,i still have my agony on waiting for my result to come.,we dont have the unoficial result thing and I checked the website.

I took 75 questions and it shut off. I am a very very impatient person. It just killed me to wait through the weekend!!! I too was nervous and I was an LPN for ten years. Do you have to wait on results through the mail? All the tests are different. The fact that it was harder, seems to be positive because as you know, the questions get progressively harder until you miss one, then it scales back to an easier one, building up to more difficult ones, until it establishes an average. So that is probably a good sign. A friend of mine had a lot on chemo! YIKES!! I know nothing about that. Alot of mine were, "You get report and are given the following patients.........it described their symptoms/diagnosis, etc. and then you had to answer who you would assess first. That is really ALL I can remember! You will be fine.

Jayvee:

What each and every one of you need to remember is that all nurses taking the exam will only get 50% of the questions correct. What the NCLEX uses is to see which level you meet. That is why questions will vary with each nurse taking the exam, even if there are 10 of you from the same class taking it on the same day. You may have a few the same, but that is about it. Hope that this helps.............................

Good luck and keep us posted................. :balloons:

Hi! I just took the nclex and itwas hard! I still don't have my results and I read in some of the comments that the computer has to determine that you have a 95% efficiency to pass? all of my friends who passed stopped at 75 and I stopped at 80. what does it mean? I remember some questions and i think I got about 20 mistakes more or less. If there are 15 pilot questions, what's the probability that I'd pass?

Hi,

You really can't judge by the number of questions you got. I got about 120 and passed, I have one friend who got all 250 and passed and another friend who got all 250 and failed. I know in WA and in CA that your license will be posted on the BON website after about two days, even before you get your results from the NCLEX.
