I am writing this to see if anyone else ACTUALLY got charged the 200 dollars only to find out in 48 hours that they passed.
I took my nclex yesterday, Saturday May 30th and I immediately went home and tried to re-register and it took my 200 dollars. I didn't wait the 24 hours like I probably should have since there is no refund if I passed, but oh well.
I took all 265 questions, it was my first take at the nclex. I am still hoping I passed because my mind keeps telling me I re-registered too soon and on the weekend.
I'm impatient.
I cannot wait until 48 hours! If I fail I'm not going to cry because I feel less scared to take it the 2nd time. And I know what to study now. I waited 6 months after graduating to take it because I was scared to take it. I am a horrible test taker! I feel relieved but still hanging on to a hope I passed.

Not that I know of. It took my money for my first attempt and I failed. I did it an hour after the exam.
Second time, I did the trick 25-6 hours later, got good message. And found out on board less than 48 hours that I passed.
did you take your exam recently? When? And was it on a Saturday?

Not to me, but I spend a good amount of time on this forum and have seen this happen to several people now. Recently, in fact, if you will spend some of your time on a search.
Typically this seems to happen when someone gets a 'good' pop up (cannot register again) and then insists on doing the PVT over and over and over....until it actually DOES take the money.
I can't swear to it, but I also believe there was exactly ONE that I read of on this forum that did the PVT once, got charged, then ultimately discovered he/she had passed.
It's a rarity; if you do get charged it's most reasonable to assume you failed, but....as we know from reading here enough....it DOES happen that it doesn't mean fail.
I took the exam back in April for the first time. Second time it was on May 27, finished around 0130pm. It was Wednesday. BON posted my license on Friday around 0630 when I checked.

How long did you have to wait in between your first and second attempt? What state are you in?
45 days for remediation. But I gave myself 2 months to sit for the exam. I' m in Michigan.

I had a friend recently that passed the exam. She did the trick and it took her money, only to find out she passed!

Does it make sense to possibly pay $200 and still not know if you passed or failed for sure? Just wait the 48 hours, it is literally 2 days..
And yet I can absolutely guarantee that before long we will see more threads posted asking if anyone has ever heard of anybody being charged who ultimately passed. And we will continue to see posts stating that since the person posting it has never personally known anyone to whom this has happened, they don't believe it does
I'm sorry about your friend, though. Better luck to her next time....and tell her to not do that stupid PVT thing again!
Absolutely makes zero sense, yet people seem completely unable to control themselves from what I read here. People actually write "I couldn't help myself"....as though it were an involuntary response to punch in credit card information and go through an online registration process.
Anxiety is what drives people to do this stupid thing, but then it leads to even MORE anxiety, bar none. I would rather be wondering and waiting until I got official results, than do the PVT and potentially lose a couple hundred bucks and/or believe I had failed when I had not.
I swear, people can be their own worst enemies sometimes!

That's tragic and great at the same time. She spent $400 to take the NCLEX once... but she passed, so...
I guess, like whether a duck's quack echoes, this is one of those things we already know the answer to (it's not a reliable test of whether you passed) that people will keep saying anyway.
