Anyone Only Use Kaplan Qbank and LaCharity PDA and Pass NCLEX??

Published

Has anyone out there passed nclex by just doing Kaplan Q bank and the LaCharity PDA book? I am going through both doing the questions, and reviewing rationales. Anyone do just that and pass NCLEX first try??

BTW my Qbank is 56% and i've done 20% of the questions (but I have been going up in scores!! My first attempt was 49% on 35questions and now I'm at 63% on tests of 35 questions)

Well right now I've done 20% and I am at 56%. On my first attempt at 35Qs I got a 49% but I've been doing them everyday and improving!! I just did 2 tests of 35qs yesterday and got 63 on both! I guess I am getting used to the questions now. I think that was my problem, not so much content although I do have my areas I am weak in and will continue to study them. Your score is great from what I've heard from others! Good luck!! You got this tomorrow!

That's the best part of the Qbank - it mirrors the NCLEX. A friend of mine took it today and said that she felt like she was taking a Qbank quiz. Keep it up - you've got this! And thank you for the words of encouragement :)

Thank you and No problem! Let me know if you passed here!!

I passed! As you get closer to your test date, I would focus more on prioritization and management questions versus reading through the huge saunders book. You could use the book as a resource when needing to brush up on a topic. I did the comprehensive test at the end of the book that helped me out. The most valuable study book I would say that I used during school was a leadership prioritization and delegation book. All of the questions in the book were similar to the type of questions I got on the NCLEX test. Good luck! :)

Congrats!!! Thank you for the advice i appreciate it!

I ONLY took the Kaplan review course which included the class for 4 days and online materials, 2 weeks before my exam day. I completed the diagnostic test, 6 of the 7 question trainer tests, about 200 Qbank questions, and the readiness test. I took the exam on June 16th and I found out that I passed today, June 17th via the California board of nursing website! I highly recommend taking the Kaplan review course because it includes the online materials and the class. They teach you the most efficient strategies to pass the NCLEX exam and it absolutely was the reason I passed the test!

Congrats! Unfortunately i do not have the money to pay for that class so i was only able to buy the q bank for a month, but thank u for the advice!

Those two were the only study materials I used after graduating. In school we used ATI and had a 3 day ATI review as well. I passed the first try.

Awesome! Did you only use the questions in both as your pharmacology review as well? Or did you use other materials for that? I have the saunders book and may just review the pharmocology chapters of that book as a refresher

Hello!

I only did Kaplan and used the Saunders book as supplement. My average was a 66% on the Qbank. I passed in 75 yesterday! I did 100% of the qbank!

Awesome congrats!!!! So you only used the Q bank from Kaplan (not the Q trainers just the 1300Q bank) and Saunders? Thats good to know!

My school required a two week live Kaplan course. So I did that as well as all the qtrainers and all the questions. I glanced over LaChairty.

My Kaplan scores were in the 60-70s. I think the last two tests (the really big ones with 265 questions) I got in the high 60s.

I passed my NCLEX-RN first shot with like 113 questions or so.

Like the other poster said about her friend..taking the NCLEX I felt like I was taking the Kaplan qbank test. It mirrored the NCLEX to me.

Okay good to know! I think I am going to focus more on the Q bank than my other studying resources.
