Anyone notified yet? Sac State CCE ASBSN program 2011

Published

Did anyone hear from Sacramento State CCE ASBSNc nursing program yet? Applications were due September 15th. Last week I received an email asking for more information but I think they needed it for tax purposes. Applicants are supposed to be notified before or on October 1st...but I'm anxious. Did anyone go to the information sessions in July and August...how was it? I found out about the program a week before deadline and rushed my application in so crossing my fingers I'll get accepted.

Well, I wish you the best of luck! It sounds like you're in...just give it some time. I am scrambling to prepare myself too; we got the schedule for the first two weeks emailed last night, but still somewhat vague overall. I plan to commute from Sacramento, but they did say that after the first two weeks of the semester to expect that we will be in class from 8am to 5pm M-F. If that is the case then I am thinking of moving out there...def considering something simple like dorms, but we have not had any info about that either yet.

They sent the Sac students the tentative schedule for the first semester of the program and it looks like we will be in class for 2 or 3 days a week from either 8-5 or 9-6. I hope that is still the case and also what you should expect as well. I know it's an accelerated program, but even my friend who went to Concordia for their 1 year accelerated program did not spend close to 40 hours in class a week! That would be so intense!!

Lol! Well I am keeping my fingers crossed...perhaps I misunderstood the email?? That would make sense, because I think we have the same professors teaching both groups.

Ahhh! I got into the stanilaus location :) It's going to be fun to meet you guys at orientation. i really hope the classes aren't 8-5 M-F.. that's killer.

Congrats mkhim! I knew it would come through for you! I'll see you at orientation!

Did anyone apply for financial aid? If so, what kind of documentation did you send with your appeal and is this the only way for us to get government aid since we are 2nd Bachelors students?

I didn't send in any documentation with mine, and I just found out that my appeal has been approved. I've been staying home with my 2 now not so little kids for the last 10 years, and haven't been employed. I have no documentation to prove it, and I wouldn't even know where to get it anyway. So, that's a very abridged version of what I wrote in my appeal and it seemed to be acceptable.

I also just had my financial aid appeal approved. I submitted my appeal, and really didn't have any documentation to back it up, so I didn't submit anything other than the appeal.

And yes, I think this is the only way to get a federal loan. It is such a process!

thanks maia and runningrn. that's great to hear you both got financing! This program is quite expensive (although still cheaper than SM's of course). When did you both send your appeals in? I sent mine early this week and still waiting to hear back.

Also, I sent in the Satisfactory Academic Progress form along with my appeal. I'm now seeing my student center that I'm FA ineligible. Is this because they have not yet reviewed my appeal and they are just seeing that I'm 2nd Bachelors from the SAP (I remember in the appeal, it said 2nd Bachelors weren't eligible)? Did anyone else have this same situation before they received aid? Thanks!

I did my appeal a few weeks ago, along with the SAP form. Be patient - it takes them awhile to review your appeal.

And, just because our appeals were approved doesn't mean we will get any financing. It depends on your EFC. I will most likely not qualify for federal aid, and will have to get a private loan, but I wanted to try for a federal loan first.

hey guys! for the people who got into stanislaus's program, do you guys know where exactly orientation will be? :/
