Did anyone hear from Sacramento State CCE ASBSNc nursing program yet? Applications were due September 15th. Last week I received an email asking for more information but I think they needed it for tax purposes. Applicants are supposed to be notified before or on October 1st...but I'm anxious. Did anyone go to the information sessions in July and August...how was it? I found out about the program a week before deadline and rushed my application in so crossing my fingers I'll get accepted.
Janice, what a coincidence you're a Cal Poly alumni too! Miss that town everyday. Yes, I applied to Cuesta 2 years in a row, but never got in because of their multi-criteria selection process. They only accept 36 and I was never so lucky. Finding housing can be stressful, but I'll let you know if I hear of anything as I have lots of friends in the area and some who may be interested in taking on a student roommate. You should have no problem finding a place thought, and luckily the nursing program will hand you your 24 new best friends :)
Sabina and runningrn2be, great to meet you here and congratulations to you both! I'm looking forward to the orientation when we can all meet face to face. Is anyone registering for the CPR class following the orientation? I think I'm going to as my certification is out of date and the cost is reasonable.
Like many of you say, this program just feels right. Love the schedule (plenty of study time) and so happy the tuition cost is half of SMU's. We're pretty lucky. Cheers to hard work paying off! See you on the 18th.
Thanks for looking out, Sarah!! I'm trying to utilize some of the campus resources and if need be, craigslist, to find 1-2 roommates. It's definitely not like SLO though, where it seemed a lot simpler to find good roommates in a location close to campus. I don't feel the need to live as close to campus, like I did in SLO though. I remember Cal Poly had a housing website where students could find prospective roommates, so I'm trying to find something similar to that for Sac State.
I've been trying to look for housing the last couple days and realizing it's not as easy as I hoped. I'm not super picky with roommates, but I do want some that will be understanding of our crazy schedule and am open to living in neighboring cities. If anyone here knows of anyone looking for a roommate in the Sac area, please let me know! I've had great experiences with past roommates and all of my past roommates have wound up being my best friends! :)
Congratulations to all of you who were accepted! I am looking into this program for about 2 years from now when I can safely say I'll have all my prereq's done! I'm hoping to follow you all on the boards and see how you like the program, so please keep positing! I see that you were sent a tentative schedule, is there anyway that one of you wouldn't mind posting that so I can get an idea of the class days and times? I'm hoping to compare this program to SMU's, schedule wise. Thank you so much, and congrats again!
Congrats to all those who were accepted. I found out about this new program on 09/17...tad to late to apply. I am very interested in how you all like the program...once you get started, of course. I am going to apply when they open up again, which I think is in January 2013. If you have time, please keep us updated.
Hi everyone! I thought I would add to this post as one of the students who will be starting at the Stanislaus program. I have been told that we will be working closely together, so I am excited to have the opportunity to collaborate with a larger group. I just got an email pertaining to the schedule for the first two weeks of our program! As excited as I am, I am now getting a reality check to how much work we are going to have on our plates!!! Do any of the Sac State ASBSN students know of the books we are required to buy yet? I am thinking about getting some of mine now if at all possible....

Great to meet you, Sabina! Thanks for the good thoughts. :) I'm getting really excited about the program, and like you, runningrn2be, glad they sent us the tentative schedule. Glad you are able to keep your job until year end. It's pretty nice to start off slow, and have a little break for the holidays and then hit the ground running next year!
