Anyone notified yet? Sac State CCE ASBSN program 2011

Published

Did anyone hear from Sacramento State CCE ASBSNc nursing program yet? Applications were due September 15th. Last week I received an email asking for more information but I think they needed it for tax purposes. Applicants are supposed to be notified before or on October 1st...but I'm anxious. Did anyone go to the information sessions in July and August...how was it? I found out about the program a week before deadline and rushed my application in so crossing my fingers I'll get accepted.

Hi,

I heard that I got in about 2 weeks ago on the 21st, but don't know much more right now. I don't know if you've heard anything from them since you posted this, but they may still be going through the alternate list. We had a deadline for Sac State general admission on the 27th. Good Luck to you!

maia99,

Do you know what the deadline is for people to accept their position for this program? I am on the waitlist, but not sure how long to keep holding out hope of getting in.

Our deadline to accept was on the 27th, so 1 week ago. They gave us about 6 days. I suspect that they are working on the alternates still, since we haven't heard anything since. Good luck!

Maia99, congratulations! Do you know when they started accepting applications? I'm beating myself up for not learning about the program sooner. I wrote the program coordinator but she told me they are understaffed and that I would hear back by today but still no word?

@Jwong00, if you don't mind me asking...when did you find out you're on the waitlist?

Did you guys get notified by email? Gosh, strange I haven't heard anything. Thanks for both your replies though.

BarneyJ, I found out last Thursday of my status on the waitlist. Although, I'm not confident about getting in at this point, now that I know they sent out waitlist results AFTER the deadline for people to accept their positions into the program. I got notified by email first, and then phone. That is really strange you still haven't heard anything back, even by email?. Hopefully, they will let you know by today!

I found out about the program on August 1st and had my application in by noon that day. I rushed it. When I in for the advising meeting 2 days later they said they had about 26 applications in. I got really lucky because I just happened to be on Sac States nursing site that day and saw the link to the ABSN. I was getting ready to apply to the traditional tract. This works way better for me and my family.

Good luck to both of you!! Don't lose hope yet, since some may be holding out for the less expensive traditional tract.

Thanks for the encouragement maia99. I was really hoping to get into this program, because 15 mos. sounds like the perfect amount of time. Also, I like the fact that it goes straight through the summer, but there are still a good amount of breaks.

I found out about the program August 7th, and turned in my app on the 8th. Wow, I can't believe they already had so many apps in early August! And I found the program by chance, because I have my Favorites set on the Sac traditional tract page, but happened to click on the School of Nursing homepage that night for some reason. I feel like they were kind of keeping this program on the down-low.

Well, I guess we'll see what happens in the next couple weeks! Let us know if you hear anything too, BarneyJ.

Thanks guys. After writing the coordinator last week I don't think I'll write again and hold out to see if they will send me an email. At this point I think that they're waiting to have an official list of accepted students before sending out rejections letters :(

Let me know if you girls hear anything new and I'll also keep you posted. Thanks for the info.

hi everyone, i'm an alternate as well for this program, but still have not heard any news. after reading this conversation, i'm less hopeful as i've now learned the deadline for admitted students to accept or decline was before the date i learned i was an alternate (september 29th). i emailed the department yesterday to ask about the process and timeline for alternates and this is the response i received:

"alternates can be notified as late as right before the first week of school depending on what happens with the 25. unfortunately we cannot foresee what may happen, but we will notify alternates as soon as possible if any spots open up."

i'm curious about the number of alternates that were accepted to the stanislaus program, does anyone know?

congratulations to those of you who were accepted and best of luck to the alternates!

Sepool, yeah I'm definitely in the same boat as you. I went on a roller coaster of happy to being on the waitlist to more of a pessimistic outlook of getting into the program. I'm still happy to be on the waitlist but the more I thought about it, the more I would have loved to have the option of starting and ending a program that goes straight through 15 mos. I've heard of people getting called up on the waitlist the night before classes start. It's crazy. What # are you on the waitlist?

jwong00, I'm #4 which, at first, I was really optimistic about. I would assume that at least a few people drop off due to being accepted elsewhere, however I have no idea if any of the alternates have been admitted at this point in time. What position are you? I believe there are 10 alternates in total. It's really hard waiting, as you know. I need to take a weekend break from checking my email :-) Did you apply to the traditional track program as well?
