Anyone know about Touro Nevada Uniforms?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hello pre-nursing and nursing students. I am currently wrapping up my prereqs to apply for the ELM program at Touro University in Nevada for the November start. I did speak with someone about the start dates at least. I was just curious about uniforms. Don't worry. I am not going to purchase anything until I hopefully get accepted. Is there anyone that has any idea if the uniforms are royal blue scrub top and royal blue scrub pants? Are the shoes required all white- closed toe and heel? Does the school of nursing allow the students to purchase any style of scrubs as long as they are the right color? I was just wondering because I am only 4'11" and like to order petite scrub pants. What do some of the other nursing programs require for uniforms? Best wishes all! Later.

From what I understand, it will be set up very similar to CSN part time program and will go for 7 semesters.

Can you tell me what Touro's program consist of days, nights, every day, weekends, mon-friday? If I already have a bachelor's degree, will certain pre-reqs be waived? What does the program consist of? I really would like to go to this school, but getting a call back at times is nearly impossible.

Yeah, I'm doing the BSN program. I don't know if I could add 3 more months to the BSN program if I wanted the MSN degree (I think that's for the entry level MSN program) but I'll definitely find out if that's a possibility. I plan to work after graduating to get more experience before applying for my masters. Where are you living currently? Would moving to Touro Nevada be a huge move for your family? I haven't applied for financial aid yet since I just recently found out about my acceptance and are waiting for the packet to be sent home. Hopefully I can get enough financial aid to help pay for my costs! It's a lot but it's definitely worth it.

Hi Empy, How are you? I would like to inquire about the procedures there at Touro as Nursing student. I will start the program in few months November 2009. I'm from California and I would like to know if you can recommend some house for me to rent near the Touro University.

I would like to contact you.

You're response and concern is highly appreciated.

Thank you.

James

Hi Shar. I don't know when exactly Touro University Nevada started the Fall cohort but there is one beginning November 2, 2009. I was accepted last week to this class. I believe Touro is on a rolling admission so maybe you can still apply. They started reviewing applications on April 1. Try calling or emailing them.

Empyreal, do you know why is it that Touro ELM program is not being advertised on their website any longer ? I can't seem to find it anywhere and i was wondering if it is still being offered. Also, is it considered a graduate program or a bridge ?

Touro-NV no longer offers the entry level masters. I confirmed this by speaking to the admissions lady.

Can anyone who's been accepted give me some insight to the application process for Touro's BSN program? I'm looking to get into the Nov2010 class. I wanted to know how long it took to get a response after applying. What were your stats? Is it competitive to get into? Financial aid?

Any info will be appreciated!

Thanks..
