What are we gonna do??? This we be a massive test! Im in Intro Chem and I have to get at least a 85% to keep an A in the class. Ahhh:barf01:
Any tips??? I have been trying to find videos or animations or ANYTHING to increase my understanding of the subject. Just practicing doesnt completly work becuase I have one of those $%^#@! teachers who likes to throw curve balls on exams, he could care less if you pass.
This will be like a 10 page exam all comprehensive, I have sooo much riding on this stupid test. Do study groups help? I honestly cant find anyone in my class who wants to, their all like no thanks. Im gonna try that video called the Standard deviants as a last resort.

Review EVERYTHING you covered in class. Can you go back over the old tests? If your teacher didn't let you keep them ask if you can come to hsi office and study them. Make sure you understand what you had trouble with. Take a deep breath....you can do this! Good luck

My final will be in 5 weeks. I'm in my second semester of Gen Chem which is req'd for BSN....It is brutal. If you already have an A/B in the class you will be fine. Stop expecting nothing less than an A right now unless you want to be miserable. If you get an A great but if you get a B or even a C for Chem. all my Chem teachers will tell you that is totally respectable...few students excel in Chem. Just do the best that you can...focus on your notes and old exams as someone already said and go to office hours with questions.
Good luck!

Thank you for your comment about a B being respectable in chem, I got a B. And like you said the class was BRUTAL!!!!!!! I am making A's in A&P and Microbiology....but Chem...... no way!!!!!!!
I never had a class where I didn't come out of the final with the same grade as I went in with......the poster needs to relax and trust that she will know enough to keep here grade and study hard for the final.

I took an ACS Final on Wednesday. Ours was over organic and biochem. It was VERY difficult. Some of it wasn't taught in class or even in our books. One of my professors said they were designed to be that way and that you aren't expected to know all the info. It still doesn't do much for the ol' self-esteem when you study 3 days straight and only know about half the questions.
Good luck though!

I had my final yesterday for Principles of Chem. Got an A on the final, but a B for the class. I'm still happy with that though. I needed 4 more correct answers on the test to have gotten an A for the class. Although this class will count in my GPA, the class I really need to get an A in is Gen Chem which I am taking this fall. The teacher I'm taking for that is completely crazy - I've heard he will randomly start pounding on desks, his chest or even his head. Most people flunk all the tests but make A's in the class. Should be interesting.

My Intro to Chem final is 5/16. We had our last exam Thursday, have 2 more classes (new material!) and then the final. Our instructor is great though. He lets us use a 3x5 index card for a "cheat sheet" for the exams and is going to let us have 4 index cards or a 8.5x11 piece of paper (front & back) for the final. I'm going with the piece of paper!
Good luck everyone :)

I have my Chemistry final this Wednesday and I'm also having a hard time preparing for the exam - only I have to get an A to get a B in the class . I slacked off a lot this semester and now I'm suffering b/c of it. Anyhow, here's my tip: Study ALL of your notes and make sure you know them well, try ALL of the problems from the book (even the harder ones), know the theory (my professor is big on this), and well just review everything over and over... and it should stick. Good luck!
