Anyone get a C in A&P?

Published

Well, I got a C in A&P...twice. I fear I have done myself in. Anyone else get a C in A&P and still get into nursing school?

Yes you can get in to nursing school with C's but it doesnt do any good for your GPA. Most school's are competitive so it's good to do your best.

I have a bachelor's in Business Administration and graduated with a 3.97. I never once took a science class during my undergrad. I can tell you I worked 10 times harder on this A & P class than I ever did in any of my business classes. I feel like a big dummy.

Umm.. lets just say I will find out soon if I got a C and will be glad if I did. I have learned my lesson: Even if you rocked at science your whole life, A and P is a whole 'nother world!

my cousin was just accepted into a bsn program with a "c" in anatomy. her other grades were great though. so, yes you can

A friend of mine got a C in A&PII and she got into an accelerated BSN program. And check this out all of her other grades were ok but not excellent. So, you will get into a nursing school and you are capable of doing the work. Believe in yourself!!!

Which program was that? I thought those programs were really competitive...wonder what made your friend stand out...

I had a C in A&P I and then turned around the next semester and got an A in A&P II and B in Micro (both classes were same day, longest semester of my LIFE lmao) they looked at that as well as other classes I took and the NLN was also part of our admission criteria so I worked really hard with a study guide and nailed it with a 98% percentile ranking, so yes it's possible if you bust your butt in the rest of your classes and show them that you can take a bump in the road and move on to bigger and better things, good luck!!

Not all programs grant admission based solely on grades. Some will let you in if you complete their application checklist in time. And some look at other aspects of your applicant profile. In most cases it's not simply a question of the person with the highest science gpa wins.

Hmm...but still wondering what it is that you think got her in. Usually BSN programs (at least the one's I've researched) heavily factor in GPA.

I took the dreaded "mini" mester A&P I and Micro at the same time and received a C in A&P. I thought I was going to die. But, I didn't and I did get in. However I go to Valencia Comm College and you just have to complete all pre's with a C or better to get on the list, along with the Net and some other stuff too! But Idid get in. Try to see if you could take it over again. My school does something called grade forgiveness. But you have to flunk the class then retake it. I wish I had known that cause I would have thrown my final!

Good luck! And definately check out all the links you can find here for studying and A and P, it is an absolute treasure trove!

Not every school rely heavily on GPA itself. For instance, in my school, admission points are scattered in these categories: GPA, TEAS score, healthcare job, and if the student spoke a second language.

I know someone who got a C in one of the science pre-reqs and she was still admitted in the program.

Don't lose hope just because a C may seem like you haven't made the cut.

Have faith.
