Anyone Else Waiting On Mdc Acceptance Letter For A Spring 2008 Start?

I Also applied for miami dade college nursing generic option and My guidance counsler said the same to me. I have a 3.2 and she said it was not bad but they usually take people with really high GPAs so I was like ok i will apply to other places too. so, I applied to barry university and got accepted in a month, they mainly look at your science grades and if you have good grades and really good science grades you have a good chance. but I dont start until next fall but I will be getting my BSN instead of ASN. You should look into their program it is supposed to be one of the best around, except they are a bit pricy! good luck with everything.

my god is it expensive congrats on the acceptance.. are you gonna go to Barry? or still wait on mdc?

-im currently finishing my a&p II this semster for MDC's accelerated req's. since ill have my BA soon.

yea I am definetly going to go to barry there program is too good to put down and I will have my bachelors degree if i go there. I know they are expensive but I am getting so many scholarships I think I have 20 k in scholarships . They try to help you out finacially as much as they can. good luck to you and everyone!!!!

I just wanted to say that I did get accepted to MDC spring of 08 .. so therefore they do take average GPAs so dont sweat it!! I got my acceptance letter last week. But, I turned them down because there NCLEX rate for this year was like in the high 70s while the school I am already enrolled in to start next fall 08 is in the high 90's like 96 percent!!!!! so Barry here I come!!

Good to know algmdc; I am starting spring 08 at mdc, i am going to the Jackson Memorial Hospital scholars program, i interviewed last week and i got it! i can't wait, I will take all classes and clinicals at jmh and then i work for them 24 months. I love Jakson and eventhoug i have the money to pay mdc out of my pocket, i rather go with the scholars program, the mentorship and opportunity to be Number 3 teaching hospital in the U.S is priceless.......Barry is great i heard, so go luck to you and next year will be crucial for you, me and the rest of lucky people that got in as well. New nursing student MDC 2008 scholar program please hellp ?????

I just came back from orientation sesion at MDC on Jackson and Baptist scholarship. Is there anyone out there that has done one of these programs and could give me some feed back. Please help me so I can make a good decision for my future. :no:

I just got great news for all those students who are dying to know if they are in to the generic nursing program in the fall of 2008. They are under new managment so they have done everything so much faster which is blessing to so many of us!

Anyway, they start going out THIS Friday THIS FRIDAY. They stop sending them on Tuesday so you should have yours by Wednesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After that depending on the applicants if they go in or not they will be sending out letters every two weeks after until they have all their seats filled. Between Homestead and Medical they typically accept up to about 180 only 30 are admitted into the Homestead campus which is scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Basically, they said that those who got invited to the info. session were at the top of the applicant pool. They had about 1100 applicants apply. And the latest they send out acceptance letters will be next Tuesday, but they will start this Friday. So, probably by the end of the week next week we should have an answer. They gave us an application packet for the scholars program. The meeting lasted about an hour and a half. The last 20 minutes or so consisted of people asking questions. That's all I can think of for now.
