  1. I feel so bad after my exam because I literally know all the answers in the book ENA Review BOok that I bought from ENA online. When I took the test-- it was a shocker to me. Probalbly only 30 percent of the concept in that book showed up.All the rest were out of this world. I failed the Exam :-(. I dont know what to do next. Im so diasspaointed.
  2. I am taking this exam 2 weeks after. Once you pay for the test--you will have 90 days to take the exam. What I do is reveiw the test questions of the sheehy's Reviewer for CEN. This week --I will have to read it for the 5th round. Hopefully--my style works--by just reading the questions over and over again--it will be more engaged to one's mind. Godwilling-- I will pass the BCEN test.
  3. i'm with you 100%. I am a 3 semester Nursing Student with a Local hospital scholarship, i am also a US Permanent Resident since the year 2000. Unfortunately, i had to quit my job and i don't have any medical coverage right now. Recently, i found a small lump on the upper right quadrant of my left breast and i can afford to do all the exams and treatment (if needed), here. I am requesting one week off from school and going back to the country where i was born (a 3rd world, undeveloped, and of the size of an orange country in South America) to get everything done for free. I had a gynecological exam done (without insurance) and i received 3 bills for the total amount of $750.00 that i'm still paying. Don't get me wrong i love this country and iam very proud to be here. I am just sad that the money i've saved up to do my American citizenship paper work is now going to be paying for the plane ticket to go get some medical help. I hope that in the future, people like myself, your patient, and many many others can walk into hospitals doors without the fear of being denied care, or being banckrupt after receiving it. Victoria.
  4. Hi.......I understand how you fell. I'll graduate from NS next semester, and i had to take my mother in law to the ER last month. While we were waiting, a very nice very old lady was sitting next to us, her face looked pale and she was grabibng her abdomen. She approached this RN and told him that she was really in pain and to please help her. The RN responded to her in front of everybody: "Ms. this is a hospital, a place where everybody is in pain, so sit down and wait". I grabbed this lady's hand and help her to her sit. I have the ability to see both sides of the story. This was the 20th time this nurse was approched by different people wanting to be help first, and plain and simple he exploded and couldnt take it anymore, and this poor lady was the one to pay the price for all his frustrations. Just wait, and when we become RNs we will decide for which team we want to play...... Good luck Victoria.
  5. I know how you feel....but remember that its possible...it happened to my with a crappy gpa, and 3 missing co-req. It can happend to you, and it will....wait for the first orientation letter and you are pretty much in, the rest is history, AND THEN.....real life begins, sleepless nights, bad days, waking up at4, going to bed at 4, etc. Surviving each semester is the hardest part........ so get ready, work out, read novels, watch movies, and do all you want to do before you start your own movie......... good luck and get ready to dance. Victoria:heartbeat
  6. HI.......I was accepted at MDC for their Nursing Program with a 3.35 gpa the first time i applied.... I know people in my class that were rejected 5 times until they got in with 3.5 and 3.4 gpa. Every semester the lowest gpa required vary, and it's hard to guess whether a 3.5, 3.3 or 3,6 would get you in. I am now in my second semester, and looking forward to move to sem 3 with the rest of my classmates ( we lost 15 already) It is definitely not easy but possible, you just have to give your best and more. ....... Mdc has a great reputation, exellent faculty ,and their Nursing program graduates more Nurses than any other college in the US................ Good luck to those waiting for ""THE LETTER" and i hope you all have the chance to be part of this great institution. Victoria.:heartbeat
  7. 1st day of clinical########You look at you fellow classmate in the middle of a bath and ask her if she knows what she's doing......she tells you no, and ask you back the same question.
  8. Good to know algmdc; I am starting spring 08 at mdc, i am going to the Jackson Memorial Hospital scholars program, i interviewed last week and i got it! i can't wait, I will take all classes and clinicals at jmh and then i work for them 24 months. I love Jakson and eventhoug i have the money to pay mdc out of my pocket, i rather go with the scholars program, the mentorship and opportunity to be Number 3 teaching hospital in the U.S is priceless.......Barry is great i heard, so go luck to you and next year will be crucial for you, me and the rest of lucky people that got in as well. Good luck! and Happy holidays! Victoria.
