Hi! I am also waiting to hear from Holmes Community College, Grenada campus. Which campus have you applied at? I know someone who got accepted last year and they said they got their letter around the 20th of April..I am am hoping to hear something soon.
I am waiting to hear from Holmes in Ridgeland for their ADN program. I have read lots of posts on here and they all seem to say that they heard around the 20th of April last year. I really hope we hear sooner. It would be nice to hear this week. Have you applied anywhere else?
I have also applied to ICC in Fulton which is where I am in school at now. I live in the middle of the two schools so I would be happy to get in either program. Do you know where I can find information about the points system at Holmes, I can't find anything on their website or in the catalog? I'm not even sure how many points I have for them. This waiting is killing me I hope to hear something soon also.
I applied to Hinds CC. I was accepted and would be glad to go there as it is a great program, but Holmes is my first choice b/c it is closer and cheaper. So...I really want to know about their point system too!! It is impossible to find much info. I do know that they rank by the ACT score and then GPA. At least that is what the website says. This wait is killing me too!!! I hope that they hurry and let us know so we don't go nuts. LOL! I took the ACT forever ago. UGH!
I can't find anything about it but I have a 23 on the act and a 4.0 grade point average. I have been told that the number of college hours you have is also factored in. I will have 44 hours after this semester. If anyone knows anything about the points system could you please let me know where I can find that information. I called the school today and was told that they are already sending out turn down letters and that if I had not got turned down yet that was a good sign. They said that they hoped to have the acceptance letters sent out by the last week of April. Anyone else applied to Grenada campus I would love to hear from you. Good luck!!:redpinkhe
A 23 ACT and a 4.0 seems like a sure thing to me! You go girl!!! Have you looked at some of the other Holmes posts on here from years past? Those are great stats and on par with others who have been accepted in the past. I did hear that they give extra points to people who have a BS or BA already and who are living within the district. They factor in all grades as far as the GPA is concerned. I do not think you will have any issues getting in at all...Do you know how many people they are admitting? Did they say they were sending letters out soon to just Grenada or all campuses?
I don't live in grenada and I don't have any other degrees, but hopefully I still stand a good chance. I am not sure about any campus besides grenada. When I called they were very nice in telling me when the letters would go out. The deadline for grenada was march 22 what was your deadline for applying? I am going to go back and read some of the older posts.
The deadline was the same. I would not worry about not having other degrees or living in district. They only give like an extra half a point or something. Extra degrees and living in district are not requirements. Your ACT and GPA are very competitive. I left them a message a couple days ago and sent an email and I have not heard back from anyone. They are very nice though when I do talk to them. I agree.
Two people that I know that also applied to the ADN program got a turn down letter today. I was scared to check my mail. I finally did and it was empty, this is so nerve wracking!!
Kaines Nana,
I have a VERY strong feeling you are in!!!!! I know you are stressed but I have a very strong feeling we are both in. :)
We just have to think positive thoughts. :) I refuse to think negatively. It only makes us crazy. You know?! Hang in there and let me know what happens. I will let you know as well. Good luck!
