Anyone else taking the weekend CNA class that starts on October 18 at RSAA?

Published

I just thought I'd see if anyone else was enrolled for RSAA's weekend CNA course starting October 18. I'll be starting then and thought that knowing some future classmates would be fun.

I'm pretty new to the valley (I moved here about a year ago.) so I'm not too familiar with the area. I'm pretty excited about the class and can't wait to get certified.

How long did it take for you to get your license in the mail and how often does RSAA hold testings?

When you go in to take your final someone will come in and talk to you about the boards. They have scheduled dates for your class or you can take it somewhere else but I recommend taking it at RSAA.

I still don't have my license #. It can take 6 - 8 weeks to get and it's only been 3 weeks. I'm not getting it in the mail because I don't want to pay $47.00 (or whatever it was) for a piece of paper. :p

Wow... that seems like a long time. I had no idea that you could have a license without the paper, but I'm all about saving money.

I assume that you probably can't work until you have that number, huh?

Correct.

On azbn.gov anyone can look you and your # up. It's all public info so any employer can just search under your name and know if you have your license. You don't need the paper.

That's cool. Simple enough.

Thanks for all of your help.

Almost ready to start class. How are you feeling about it? Just wanted to check in. :)

I'm excited. I hope that it's going to be interesting.

I have to admit, though, that I'm not thrilled about not having a life for the next 6 weeks. My hope, though, is that it will be the start to a great career in nursing!

Im pretty sure I am going to go to RSAA. Do they have a part time evening program?

They do have an evening program. It's 5 weeks long. 4 weeks are in the classroom from 6 to 10 and then 1 week is clinicals from 1 to 10.

They do have an evening program but I don't know if it's what you'd consider part-time.

The only part of CNA school I enjoyed was goofing off with two of my classmates...one of them being Sbenning5. :) We met online right before class started.

The rest of it was .......

Hi Jess,

I'm starting the class on Saturday as well. I'm also working full time, so no days off for 7 weeks...sigh. But I am excited to get this done. I have all my classes done exc A&P and micro, so I'm hoping to get into Gateway's LPN program fall '09. A long road, but worth it! See you in class
